Hello. Installing a DC to DC charger will help you greatly with your power needs , it will keep your solar generator charged while driving. There are dual charge units that will charge via solar when you're not driving. It's definately worth the investment. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

@rouseyournicholls A DC to DC charger will charge your house batteries or solar generator while you are driving through your alternator. Many units also have a solar port for charging via solar when you are not driving. Just make sure to get one that is compatible with your alternator. It is so worth it.

It's a power station, not house batteries. All you have to do is plug the DC charger into your 12 V port while driving (cigarette lighter). My Bluetti came with both AC and DC chargers. Jon in rural BC, Canada

Hi Jan. I'm definitely interested to see how your new system will work. I've got a 800 watt Bluetti with 200 watts of solar. I have a 300 Watt Jackery for small items to charge. I probably should have gone with the 1500 watt Bluetti but still not sure how much I actually will need. I love your pink blouse! Makes your blue eyes pop!😍😍

I don't know if this relates to your mini van, but most electrical items tell you not, to wrap the wires, fine wires break easily. And not to run wires under a carpet, as some get hot, and can start a fire. Maybe you can feel the wires?? I know that my phone charger wires get pretty warm, just out in the open. One of my pet peeves is seeing wires every where, no matter where I am. 😢 I'm always trying to hide them behind something. Your new box looks great, especially that it swings outta the way 😅

I'd be attaching pool noodles (could use velcro and only attach when parked) to the black bar or glow-in-the-dark tape. That sharp hit to the shin bone is a no TY very much.

The newer bluettis don’t have the box (converter/inverter, what ever it is) now everything is in the unit itself and they also charge quicker. I’m all for the power stations instead of the whole electric system.

Jan, I hear ya on hitting your shins on the piece that sticks out. Hurts 😮 😭!!! What I was wondering is if a pool noodle cut to size would fit over it and slide off and on when it is exposed. I have similar Yakima Swing Away but mine is for my e-bike, but works on the same principle. It is usually in closed position except when I need to get in the back doors and swing it away, but it just seems like there should be something to cushion it that is easy on & easy off.

You mentioned how much power it takes for your laptop-have you thought of just using a smartphone to do KZfaq videos? I follow creators that exclusively use just a phone to make content. Seems like it would take less battery power to charge a phone rather than a laptop.

True, but phone editing apps are very limited. I enjoy the editing process, so if I make it look easy after all the hours I spend, then I have achieved my goal! 😊

Jan, is your van lifted? I’ve been concerned about my hitch box dragging. I had it on a jeep and it occasionally dragged. Seems like my van is lower.

I wish I could lift my van, but the warranty won't let me. I have it for awhile and it hasn't bumped yet. Maybe the Exo System is higher.

I have a small minivan, but I'm 71, with bad knees and hips. How do you get in and out of your minivan and move around. I see a lot of young people on their knees. That would be very painful for me. Jon in rural BC, Canada

No knees! 😱 I have a potty that is low enough for me to sit on it and swing my legs in. When I didn't have that, I used a little folding one step stool. 👍

I am terminally ill at age 57. I will need oxygen while I sleep. I really want to get rid of my house and all of the overhead associated with having a house so that what little money I have can be spent doing a little traveling and on things, I would like to have with my couple of years left. Is there a way to use Oxygen if you have a van or would I need a small RV. I also due to my condition. Need to have it cool all the time. What do you do for air conditioning? it would just be my husband and myself giving up our mainstream and trying to live this kind of life to enjoy what I have left.
