I absolutely agree. Super Dimona is easy to fly. This plane has the low consumption and also low price of flight hour. Ideal for all motor pilots.

This is a really unique aircraft, in Europe it is classified as a glider but in US it is classified as a plane, and it wasn't one of those ultralight/LSA glider or plane either. Do you need either glider or PPL license to fly it?

It’s classified as TMG - touring motor glider. You need either a PPL or an LAPL with TMG extension. But it counts as a SEP so if you fly this, you can maintain your SEP extension. LAPL is a European license, Light Aircraft Pilot License. Similar as PPL, but MTOW must be maximum 2 tons, maximum 4 seat can be on the aircraft, and you need less hours to keep the license. So it’s much cheaper to acquire and obtain, but it’s only valid in Europe. Best bang for buck

@@unabletochoose it is obscenely expensive to fly these days with the rising fuel cost. Can't afford to own or even rent a 4 seater, this might be even cheaper than light sports I suppose.

@@wckoek it is. I don’t fly this plane, I fly SF36A, same category. It consumes around 10 liters an hour (2.6 gal). And if you shut down the engine, then zero. Or if you don’t dare to shut down, you can reduce it to idle, and still use it as a glider. I couldn’t afford (or couldn’t justify the cost) to rent a Cessna or other SEP with current prices, this is a really great alternative.

This would be a motor glider in US. A private pilot glider rating, which takes 10hrs minimum to get, does not require a medical, can be flown up to 18,000ft, can be flown out of the country and can flown at night. The pipistrel sinus is also a motor glider and training cab be done in Florida at right Rudder Aviation. This is real FAA rule and many has taken advantage of it. The classification of the aircraft depends on the owner and the glide ratio and how they want to aircraft to be classified. Once glider can never be airplane again.

@@mauriceevans6546 That's nice to hear. I'm sure with how things are going, no one is going to classify it as a plane. The Sinus cost a lot more than these and there is quite a numbers of them available in Europe for not a lot of money.
