This is one of those games where it will unfortunately detract from the legacy of the Albany team, unfair as it may be. Even making a run like this, it's game like this people remember. Only a year later and people have already forgotten about Max Duggan, but they remember 65-7. Those players are gonna have to live with that the rest of our lives.

When I moved to a new town during high school, My new schools mascot was the Jackrabbits. I thought it was a pretty silly name then. Now the HS team I am near is named the Honkers

Western teams aren't in a good position to move up. No great conference to fit in with in the FBS and traveling to the MAC or MWC is a lot of $$$ spent for a small school. A slightly easier way would be to move up all 4 Dakota schools at once to mitigate the scheduling/travel costs for each of them, but it would still be tough financially

Albany has been on the road the last 2.5 weeks, playing in different time zones. The team was exhausted at this point going into the game. They have starting players injured too. The other team never left their front yard. Hate to make excuses but I will. Cortland Ny- #1

How the hell did Albany make it to this game?? Did Albany even prepare for this game??? It looked as if their tennis, golf and swim teams showed up to play football. Was Albany as bad as they looked or is South Dakota State just in a different league? It looked like the worst peewee football team in history vs Tom Bradys Patriots! To be fair there last play off game was in Idaho. Imagine playing a play off game in Idaho when your from NY, THEN having to travel to South Dakota the following week. Honestly sounds exhausting

SDSU will look like this in Frisco too so no need for insults. There's no game plan versus a certified powerhouse. Albany did what they could. Eastern high school football is far from weak. Check out where the sport of football was revolutionized before disrespectful comments on regions you don't understand.

In the FCS outside of like the top 7/8 teams there is a big gap, and that gap is in the trenches SDSU can push around almost anyone in FCS. No 4/5 starts just getting S&C. 🫡
