This laptop seems like the best university laptop for me except it’s a bit pricey. it’s not ugly, pretty lightweight, and can game. I’m considering the 2023 4050 version because i’m not gonna play game a lot but i’ll play hogwarts legacy and cozy game sometimes. i wish they had a white colour

For light to medium gaming you can go for the 2022 model and save yourselves a lot of money. But yeah if you want a larger trackpad go for the 2023 model

I'll be doing a review. Personally I think Ai "FEATURES" are a gimmick, but Ai itself when properly deployed is incredible. To me Ai is not a feature, it's what makes the device seamless. I hate Ai features that I have to learn how to use... that's not useful. So we shall see how intuitive the "features" are upon testing.

I had the 2021 ROG Flow X13. Literally had every possible problem. The tablet mode would randomly turn on and off, the keyboard would randomly choose a key and just hold that key down digitally and I'd have to press it over and over again to get it to stop, my screen randomly turned on a display profile and wouldn't turn off until I reformatted it, and one of my USB-C ports stopped accepting a charge. Best Buy took it back and sent it in 5 times before they finally junked it. EDIT: I had to charge through the little GPU addon.

I would like to add, though, that even though I had all those problems, I was really sad when they junked it. Even though the display color was cloudy, it was my favorite laptop to use.

I'm actually in the market for this X13 or it's bigger sibling the X16 right now, and have been looking at most of the coverage of these devices for the past two weeks. Your content has been very helpful. However, I've found your content and most other to skip over or quickly pass by these two devices in the Tablet form. Which I find to be a complete shame. If I'm buying one of these, when compared to the expansive tablet / ultrabook / notebook / macbook space. It's because I want a 2-in-1 convertible, and want to utilize the tablet mode. Show more of it, use more of it... How does this thing play games in tablet? I'm guessing the X13 & x16 get throttled with a AAA title in table, but how hard? Can I casually play lighter titles like top-down games or colony simulators in tablet? Can I play games with the stylus? Can this device comfortably replace a steam deck given it has controller support? How is the tablet with an art program, is there significant gitter when compared against say a Surface Pro and Pen2? How is reading on this device in tablet? What does a Kindle title look like on it? Is it readable out in sunlight or in filtered shade? You know, things people would do with this device specifically because it's a 2-in-1 and is a full fledged tablet. Your not alone in ignoring or barley discussing these features, every review on this platform seems so accustomed to reviewing laptops that you all seem to ignore or are uncomfortable with reviewing the tablet feature and uses of this device. Yet, that's a fantastic disservice to the Flow line. If we're shopping for this over say the G14, it's because I want the convertibility and find value in the tablet feature set. It would be nice to see how that performs. Your reviews of this X13 and most reviews of the X16 as a 'laptop' have been terrific. Yours are very through. However, it's use as a laptop is only 50% of how I would hope to utilize this device. More examples and critique of the tablet mode would be greatly appreciated and would lend to a better overall review.

Guys, I need you help for decision: would you rather go for the G14 2024 (32GB/4070) or X13 2023 (32GB/4070) (let’s assume I get them for the same price) - mainly using it for office, teams and multitasking - connecting a large 4K display (gaming in 2K) - casually gaming My thoughts: I’d go with the X13 and if necessary in 2-4 years upgrade it with an external XG. What would you go for?

I'd go for the x13 version as well. 4000 series should be able to handle 2k res along with upscaling for even better performance. Offcie ise & carrying it also fits in neatly & like you've mentioned, for more graphics performance you can later buy the external gpu which could be 5000 series by the time you'd probably be unhappy with the integrated 4000 series

I got the 2023 4050 version and it’s not working with ROG Cetra II Core earphone for some reason. I haven’t tested any other 3.5mm earphones but If you are considering to use any 3.5mm headphones on this model just be careful.

I want to correct your point on the buying preference part; The difference between 4050, 4060, and 4070 laptop GPU performance (under the same TGP levels) are just barely noticeable. I think cbutters tech made an analysis about this if I'm not mistaken. HOWEVER, the performance difference between the 4070 laptop GPU under the highest TGP possible VS a 4080 laptop GPU under the lowest TGP are painfully big. So even IF we're able to put a 4070 laptop GPU at the highest TGP, it's still going to be beaten by an XG Mobile's 4090 (Max TGP 150W). By an extremely long shot. I do want to acknowledge though.. that the 4070 Laptop GPU is currently the most hated laptop GPU chip in the world because of one thing, and one thing only; PRICE. A 4070 laptop vs a 4080 laptop (under the same brand) are often priced quite nearly nowadays, hence how overpriced it is. But I guess NVIDIA knew about this all along & made the 4070 laptop chip to lure everyone to spend a bit more for a much better performance of an at least 4080 laptop. That's not to say the 4070 Laptop GPU is a bad performing card. We've been getting laptops with a 175W RTX 3080 Ti Laptop performance, at avg 75W less. And let's not forget that a 60-65W 4070 Laptop performance in the 2023 X13 & Z13 Acronym, performs similarly (if not better) to the 150W 3080 XG Mobile. That.. is impressive AF for consumers who are opted for very thin & light (and subdued) laptop/ultrabook/tablet design that were previously restricted by a 40W 3050 Ti Laptop performance at the very best.

I just came across your channel and I did subscribe.. I NEED HELP... Ive never owned a laptop or computer. Only used my android phone. I now want AND NEED a portable laptop to learn how to edit photography and video. I want to buy new and need enough power to learn photo and video editing up to 6k raw for the next 3 years. I have up to 3k to spend and don't care if it's mac or windows. I prefer 14 inch but 16 inch is fine and need the power without being plugged into the wall. PLEASE GIVE OPION ON BEST OPTION UNDER 3K. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT LAPTOPS...... THANK YOU!
