I think Illinois should have sent Bill Self a FF plaque since he literally built this Illinois team that made the NC game ..Then Weber should have sent Frank Martin a thank you letter for leaving him with so much talent at KState..allowing him to have 2 really good years when he first arrived...Weber is a great care taker of good teams, he just cant build one of his own
@andrewforce65162 ай бұрын
THE moment I knew we were not gonna stay elite was when Weber hit the recruiting trail with case studies of Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and Luther Head...and could only bring in 2-star Chester Frazier as his future point guard. It was a monumental failure of PG recruiting.

Kentucky vs Duke 92 was great. Illini vs Michigan 89 semis was the most underatted game ever. 2nd half was a battle. No pun. The lead changes an ties were crazy. Anderson gets blame for his non block out. To me Rice was the one who the illini or any team had no chance with 6 9 jump shooter from 25. Great game was the champioship game to me.

@keithglass48916 жыл бұрын
He wasn't that good. The setup was perfect because he had 5 player on the floor who could handle the ball, shot and run. They made motion look easy. Then after they were gone his teams struggled even though they had talent but I different type of player. This was Golden State before Golden State. They set records in Illinois history in poor shooting and scoring after these guy left and never adjusted to his talent. It's easy to run this offense with those guards. It's telling when you don't have them and refuse to adjust and blame 18-20 year olds for not getting it done. Inheriting this team was fools gold.
