Tuning in @3:33 in the morning to find even after meditating why I am not able to feel happy....and turns out to be I was EXPECTING from myself to be happy Instead of accepting myself as it is and the very moment I realised this I got smile 😊 on my face

It is amazing how Sister Shivani takes up a situation that many of us actually encounter in life or are at least familiar with and uses spirituality to guide us as to how to handle it. For instance at around 7:30: many of us might have experienced the feeling of betrayal when we invest so much in a relationship and the other person does not respond "according to our expectations"! The very word "betrayal" conveys that the other person has committed some crime which then allows us to justify our victimhood. But if we change the vocabulary and realize that the other person has simply acted according to his/her sanskar, capacity, then the sharpness of the feeling of hurt gets blunted. Also, often, while showering our love and affection, we might not be consciously expecting anything particular in return. But the real test comes when the other responds in a certain way which we feel is not right or not enough. This shows that the expectation was there all along as an undercurrent. But the constant reminder that the other person is a soul on a journey (just like us) with possibly vastly different sanskars helps us to shift to acceptance of the other and compassion for the other.
