These puppies are now 1 week old and doing great. Grandma Reina helps out cleaning and cuddling them, but the feedings are my responsibility. I set my alarm every 3 hours throughout the day and of course the hardest feeding is the middle of the night.
I first prepare the formula so it’s ready in the refrigerator. I also sterilize the silicon feeding station. It’s a wonderful improvement from the eye dropper I used last week.
This feeding station is so much easier and efficient. I have to help them on the nipples, but the puppies are usually fed within just a few minutes.
I heat the formula to 100° F which is 38.8° C, although I usually warm it a little higher at first because the formula cools off very quickly. And once the temperature is correct, the puppies eat very quickly.

They are getting so big (for such tiny little sweetie pies). Can't wait for them to open their eyes and be able to play with the other sweetie pies and see how their personalities develop. They are sooo cute. If I could have one where we live (and afford one) I would snatch up the baby girl so quick. They look like they might have long hair. Raina deserves extra treats for all her work with them. Still praying they stay healthy and strong.

Tube feeding is so much faster and better as you know exactly how much they are getting and they can’t aspirate. I can do it in my sleep.

hi kelly :) it is truly amazing how much you love and care for these little puppies. i have been watching your videos for a couple months now and they’ve really helped me gain knowledge for my little chihuahua, her name is claire. claire is 7 months old and soon i will have to leave her alone for 8 hours a day while i go to school. i was wondering if this is okay for her as i don’t want her to feel lonely. do you have any advice for leaving her alone for such a long period of time?? thanks in advance!

At first I used a heating pad for when Reina wasn’t sleeping with them. But now that they’re older, they’re able to maintain their own body heat just by cuddling together in their bed ❤️

Thank you for this video. My Maltese just died after having 5 puppies Friday night and were devastated and bottle feeding. I’m so nervous about them getting it in their lungs. Did all of your pups survive? I think mine are premature. We sit and feed them and cry about our dog we loved so much. They thing her uterus burst or she developed a blood clot. We’re feeding them every 2 hours because of their size.

Good job girl. I just found a lonely puppy at my doorstep. I took her in and gave her some fresh milk. Her eyes are open, but i can't tell how old the lil one is. She just peed twice in my living room. I don't know how to deal with her. I pity her so much but I'm not sure if I can keep her.

Depending what dog breed she is, she should be able to walk on all fours around age 3 - 4 weeks old. Before that they do an army/belly crawl. Teeth start coming in around four 4 weeks old and you should be able to soak dog kibble until it’s soft and encourage her to eat it. If she’s younger than that, she still needs mommy‘s milk or you can substitute with puppy formula. If she’s nervous, then do as much baby talk and nurturing care as you can ❤️ Wishing her the very best.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Did you use this feeding station until they weaned or switched next after they grew older? The puppies are still with mama dog but the owner of mama doesn't want them and she wants only mama and one puppy, after many discussions, begging and more, even trying to bribery 😢😢 I am keeping the other babies, hopefully I will keep them alive (yes she is that mean 😭 and nop I cannot do anything legally as is in another country) I have tried to find another dog to feed them but so far no luck. They are 15 days old but they feed all day on mama. Should I left the feeding station permanent so they can drink whenever they want? They don't really have a schedule 😕. I worry about them all day long. My aunt has a very old female Chihuahua I am gonna try to get her to help clean and take her also of the puppies. Hopefully she will want to help out and be a grandma to them !

I’m sorry to hear about the woman who abandoned the puppies. I am glad you were trying to help them. No the feeding station cannot be left out all day because you have to make the milk the right temperature. The puppies will not drink the milk unless it’s about 101°F. It’s very difficult to keep the milk at that temperature because when you heat it up it very quickly cools down as you pour it into the silicone feeder so I usually heat it up to about 105 and then pour it into the silicone, feed her, and then take the temperature again before putting the puppies on the feeder You’ll have to put them on your schedule. Puppies thrive. Best when they are on a schedule. I made myself a little chart so I could keep track of each and every feeding. They need to eat about every four hours.

A newborn puppy needs to nurse within the first couple of hours of birth. As a newborn they suckle almost continuously throughout the day, of course falling asleep often and then waking up again soon to nurse more. As the puppies grow older the nursing sessions become shorter with longer breaks of not eating. Once the puppies each about seven weeks old, they will only nurse about twice twice a day. But newborns they cannot go longer than 2-3 hours without eating. Best of luck to you and your sweetie pies.
