We retired and moved to The Villages, Florida just over 1 year ago. We can honestly say it is one of the best decisions we have ever made. There is so much to do and see here in The Villages and the surrounding area. Simply said, life is good here in The Villages. I decided to throw together some clips of a few of the things we did and saw this first year.
Thanks for dropping by the channel. Nothing too serious, just a few video's of what we've seen and done. Mostly, our adventures in The Villages, Florida. There is so much to see and do, get out there and take advantage of it. Take care everyone.

Nice Video. We bought a house in March in the Village's and are looking to retire at the end of the year. We can not wait to get there. Videos like these just get me more excited. Looks like you did a lot in one year.

@@WebbTime Hey, question for you. I do a lot of BBQ and smoking briskets in the backyard. Is that allowed in the villages( do to all the smoke)?

@swaggysway5418 absolutely. I do a lot of bbqing as well. Don't have a smoker anymore but a Blackstone and a grill so I'm always out there. I have a villa with an enclosed backyard but I see homes that don't have enclosed yards with bbqs out there all the time. I see a lot of people bbq in their driveway as well.

Been to many of them and continue to go. We moved into a newly constructed neighborhood and it was where we met a lot of our neighbors. Take care

I like the villages I’m familiar with Florida because of family living on each coast there but it doesn’t look like much privacy once you’re living there! Plus I’m sure if you have a boat or rv it’s an issue with parking it !

Yeah, those assumptions are true in many cases. We are fortunate in that we have a fenced back yard which does give us some privacy even though our neighbors are still pretty close. We came here with a travel trailer which we had to find a storage lot for. But I guess we just have to take the good with the bad.

Thanks, appreciate it. The band is The Hooligans. A very popular band here. The same guys are in another band called the Spazmatics (80's music). They don't play in The Villages as much as they use to now that they play at Disney (Epcot) regularly. Take care

Thanks, appreciate it. We are on the south end of The Villages, near Sawgrass. We are very happy with this location. Short cart rides to both Sawgrass and Brownwood. Will be not too far from Eastport when that opens up. We are happy with our home as well, we were lucky and were able to get a villa so we have an enclosed back yard which I like. There seems to be constant new businesses opening up down on the south end so looks like will be even better in the future. Take care.

Do the restaurants and town centers all close at 8pm? how late does the bars stay open? Is it too hot in June July and August?

The live entertainment in the squares ends at 9pm. After that the town squares pretty much clear out with the exception of some of the bars and restaurants with outside patios. Those do stay open and have people there until later hours. But, after 9pm it's pretty quiet. No denying it's hot in those months. But we found it did not really slow us down, we still did all of the golfing, softball and other sports we are doing during the other months. We just added a little bit more pool time during the hot daytime hours. But we enjoyed it because the pools is where we met a lot of people here when we were new to the villages. Take care

Don't know for sure. All I can say is that we do know several singles here that we interact with and do things with all the time. I have also seen many singles groups doing various activities and meetings. I know some other KZfaq channels have done videos specifically related to single in The Villages. Those may have more info that I can provide. Good luck, take care

No HOA but rules that are even more restrictive than most HOA's and your neighbors are the one's that report you anonymously .There must be 100 video's telling you not to go to the Villages so check those out. Better to buy a house near there and go to the Town Halls as a non resident. You can play golf or pickleball every where and the same home in the Villages is probably 100k less in Ocala with an Acre of property.

Way too many people. The homes are too close together. I saw no shade trees, on anyone's property. Too much sun for me. You can keep it.

Try the historic side. Lots of trees, more reasonable and you get the same perks. I lived there 6 years.

I have no idea what the specific demographics are. I would imagine there must be some kind of website online somewhere that would be able to provide those types of specific statistics. As for living here, I see people from what appears to be every demographic living here and enjoying the lifestyle provided here in The Villages. Take care.
