Great idea to do this video Jen. I'm sure a lot of people, myself included thought the recovery was pretty instantaneous. I never considered the driving licence suspension for instance. All in all a very thoughtful and informative video. Well done.

Thanks Eddie! My vision was so blurry the first week, I would have been a hazard on the road! I was nervous at the local Ministry of Transportation when I had to take the eye test to remove the glasses condition from my license. Thankfully I passed!

Such great news Jen. Really glad for you. It's awesome to have good vision. I had 20 20 vision up to about 3 years ago when it started to change. Have to wear glasses most of the time now. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden

i do the same thing when i think i got a bug. Slam back the tea and honey. Whether it's store bought green teas or wild edible tea, i drink a pot of it. My grandparents use to purchase a tea called "wonder tea". it was all natural and was really expensive. I loved the stuff but have yet been able to find it and both my grandparents have passed away years ago. Glad your eye balls are doing good!!

I was thinking about getting it done and went to my doctor to ask a few questions . I was told I would be able to see far away with one eye and close up with the other eye. He used contact lenses to give me a sense of what it would be like and I discovered that it was just not for me. It was so strange although he said I would probably get used to it and my brain just needed adjustment time. But that was just not good enough for me. So I will stick with my glasses for now. I am glad you had great results and it worked out for you!
@TheWildYam
@TheWildYam 6 жыл бұрын
I know someone who had the exact procedure done to them. They are happy about it but had a lot of headaches in the beginning as their brain had to get used to that type of correction. The one you describe is for when people are both near and far sighted.

Marienkaefer4 Do a little research on IOL procedures. Intra Occular Lens replacement may be the way to go for you. It's pricey, but worth it. I have not had it done because of this, but when i find a way to pay it will be done.

Hey it's great that your Lasik went well... It's been 4 weeks since I had my Lasik surgery.. And..I sometimes feel like rubbing my eyes like the way I could before the surgery... Yes. I never got dry eye thankfully. I mean, they were a bit dry in the first little while due to the expected nerve damage from the surgery but as the nerves regenerated, I'm good now.

I know this is an older video, but did the fuzziness when reading text ever get better/sharpen up(and when)? I got PRK surgery 2 weeks ago and coming from glasses for 20+ years its jarring how blurry/fuzzy everything is when reading text, even up close. I know I have to be patient, but its tough coming from crystal sharp vision close up and far with glasses to having blurriness close and far, especially when I'm in front of screens constantly for work

Jay Zee -5.25 with mild astigmatism. You have to wait until you have several years of your prescription being stable before surgery. If you don't, you'll need to have it corrected again in a shorter period of time.

What are the risks of this surgery and how much does it cost?
@TheWildYam
@TheWildYam 6 жыл бұрын
There are lots of risks. From infection to rare cases of blindness (never happened with the company I went with). You have to research them all and talk to your eye care professional about them. They go over all the risks and probabilities of the complications happening to you at your first examination. The first exam was free.

20/20 is not perfect vision how can people still not know these things. If 20/15 and 20/10 is better then how can 20/20 be perfect smh
@Dom4z
@Dom4z 4 ай бұрын
20/20 is what the biggest % average of people have. So by that it's the "standard" vision. Because 20/15 percent wise is quite rare, 20/10 is even rarer. It's like 1 in 1 million of people or so. That's like having +1 hyperopia without compromised close up. Hence, 20/20 is refered as to baseline normal vision. 20/40 is technically -1 diopter range.

TheWildYam i had lasik about 15 years ago. My eyes were -9.5 so even worse than yours, and had to have a more expensive procedure so that if I had regression later, which was very possible, I would have enough cornea to re do. Luckily I have no issues and no regression. Need the readers occasionally now but only for that damn micro print they use on some things 😉
