I make the circuit boards for the Pulsar LT. I have it currently installed on my 2019 5.3L Silverado. I have talked the engineers and made them aware of the emissions failure problem. They are in the process of testing this issue on my truck. I will let you know what we find out. I will post an update as soon as I know. Our engineers work very hard to insure that our products are top quality and that our customers are satisfied. I appreciate this channel and it's content. I hope I can be of some help.

Great video as always, I had the same one in my 19 Silverado and never had that issue with inspections, I did have one check engine light for not receiving proper ground to an injector but after speaking to superchip and my local dealership shop foreman which is a friend of mine he told me just to disconnect the pulsar for 20-30 min and reinstall, after doing that all went back to normal. I also think that whoever did your inspection kinda did you wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️, well you already took it off just get the inspection and put it back on. Hope your issue gets resolved! Lmk if you need help, I live in Laredo but I’m more than happy to bounce ideas back in forth

Luckily not all Texas counties require exhaust to be inspected during the annual inspection. My county just checks that basics are working/in good order: lights, tires, brakes, has mirrors…

Do you or perhaps one of your followers know if the separate Range AFM & DFM Disabler or the Range Start/Stop Disabler cause the same issue? In other words, if I pull the Range AFM Disabler from the OBD-II port prior to an inspection am I going to have to drive around until everything cycles back through the ECU? Or does it have no effect?

Hey, love your channel and i have learned a lot. I dont have the pulsar yet but i have pulled my 2 fuses under the hood in the fuse box. They are marked AFM but i think its for the DFM. I would love to see you do a video on seeing if it turns off the DFM. You have the cameras to do it plus the exhaust. I think it would be a cool video. I cant wait to get the pulsar but just have family things im working on right now. Any way have a great day. If you have any questions just ask me.

I used to be a certified state inspector. The OBD connection is only required in highly populated counties like those around the DFW. Just travel a few miles in any direction and you would pass the inspection.

Did you do the software update for the Pulsar LT? They made a software update to make it more 'stealthy'. I didn't have any issues passing the Texas state inspection with it.

You scared me for a min on the Pulsar LT.. lol. I’ve had mine for a little over a year now and still love it, would 100 times buy it again. Lucky for me I live in TN were we have no state inspections.

Next question I have a 6.2 L Chevy Silverado and I put a pedal commander on it now being that it changes the throttle position will it disable my dfm fuel management system or will it not or at what position or setting do I need to put the pill commander on sport or Super Sport at which setting would it or if it will turn off my dfm just curious

I'm in Virginia which requires inspection every year and emissions every two years. I went through inspection with the pulsar on my '20 6.2L LT Trailboss and had no issues, but haven't had to do emissions yet. Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely pull the Pulsar out for emissions this year. Looking forward to see the garage build. I'm on a 6" BDS lift w/ coilovers and 35" Trail Grapplers for about 18 months an get about 11MPG in my 6.2L.

So with everything on the result you got back being “not ready” does that do any harm to your vehicle? Like the catalyst, fuel system, o2 sensor???

Keep us up to date on your shop issues with your HOA. We bought 2 years ago and automatically eliminated homes with HOA's but I was in one in the past and it's navigable. You're also in a state where reasonable people are in greater supply

Hey have you noticed any issues with the Lasfit LED lights you have on your truck? I was told that LED products don't typically like HEAT which is hard to avoid here in Texas. I have a my left blinker that fails after leaving it on waiting for a light to change and my reverse lights have burnt out and its barely been a year. My 2021 Silverado was ordered with OUT afm/dfm and here in Iowa I don’t have to worry about inspections.

the " NOT READY " status on your emissions report simply means the system has not yet completed a self diagnostic yet. some of the checks require several miles of driving and/or under certain conditions, if you had disconnected the battery etc recently (losing power to the ECM) that would cause this scenario. It may not necessarily be your Pulsar. .

What do you think of the new 2022 trail bosses? The new hoods look similar to the ZR2 style.

What would happen if you disconnected the pulsar LT but didn’t remove the harness. Cover up the plug where the pulsar connects?

I have the Pulsar LT and I also love it. I am fortunate the state I live in doesn't have inspection and emission testing.

We have no inspections at all in Alabama so I’m good to go ! 🇺🇸🤘🏼

You can manually turn off your afm, by putting your truck in L mode which is manual shift it up to 9th gear if you have a 10 speed trans, and then drive normally with full 8 cyl working and it will not cycle down cylinders while keeping it at 9th gear . Its a manual trick turning off your afm, all silverado's can do this but its important to set one gear less than your top gear for your motor.

@LONESTAR HAWAIIAN are you still running the Pulsar LT today and is it a product you would still recommend? Other than the fuel mileage..... do you have any regrets installing it ?

Good to know, I bought the pulsar solely for the auto start/stop, DFM delete. I love mine.. gonna need to pull it off before it’s time to renew my NY state inspection! Thx for the heads up! Saved me $39 for a failed inspection. Still worth every red cent and minor inconvenience of having to pull it annually.

Love the content and the video's. Other than failed inspections is there any downside or cons to using the Pulsar? I have been driving in L9 around the city to eliminate DFM as Range does not have a unit for the refreshed 2022 yet.

I have been watching a bunch of videos and reading about newer model Silverado reliability. That's because I have a 2012 that has been a great truck that now has over 197,000 on it. Everything is still working and it runs great. I am just ready to either sink some money in it or get a new one. I just don't want to get a new one that is not as reliable as the one I have. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the video. Does the Pulsar LT have to be re-programmed when you re-install it, or does it remember the prior settings?

Another thing they don’t tell you about the Pulsar LT is that you won’t get a check engine light turning on alerting you to a problem. I only know because I had lifter failure and the engine was misfiring horribly with no warning lights. Also, just by turning off the cylinder deactivation with the Pulsar LT, the lifters can still fail in a truck with less than 20,000 miles. The Pulsar LT was on there since new.

Did you adjust your axle ratio at all since you have bigger tires and lift?

Did you have to reprogram it back to factory settings before uninstalling it?

I was looking into getting that same system for my 19 GMC Sierra Denali w/6.2L until they wouldn't sell it to me as I live in southern CA. These units are "Not" CARB legal here and this might be the reason for it. Passing emissions laws here is nutz to say the very least so the CA smog police don't like us doing anything to our newer vehicles that might make them better, more powerful, get better mpg, etc. Yeah, kind of wish CA would let a lot of these little mods go as getting your engine to run right and the way you want is kind of important to most of us gear heads. Having power and a good sound from your vehicle make the right foot and ear holes happy.

I have a 2021 Silverado 4 cyl 2.7L Do you know if it has DFM? I know it as Auto-Start for sure.

What size tires are you running on that trail boss? Did you have to lift it or cut anything to make those fit? My stock 2020 trail boss has Good Year Wrangler 275/65/R18’s but I want a wider tire that may give me a little sidewall poke without lifting or cutting anything and was curious if 305/60/R18’s would fit. I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 6.2 L at about 7,000 MI I dropped out two lifters took it in they argued with me and said they were only going to replace the two that failed I argued with them for several hours and they finally decided they better replace all 16 so they did do that that was some time ago now I'm up a little over 10,000 miles so I'm wondering if I should get this Pulsar LT and give it a shot and I was fortunate at the time the lifters failed I was only doing about 4 miles an hour through a parking lot I just got back from a trip that was over 2,200 miles so I think I got real lucky I wasn't on the highway at the time but anyways I'm thinking I'm going to get one of these and I just wanted to know some feedback on how they work with the 2021 Chevy Silverado 6.2 L thank you

Can anyone tell me the upper speed limit of driving my 6.2L in L9 mode to disable the DFM? No Range Pulsar product is available for a 2023 Yukon, so going with the workaround but don't want to over-tax my engine when on a short stretch of highway.

Glad my 2022 TB 6.2l didn't come with the AFM or auto stop/ start. Only time I unhook my pulsar lt is to get it serviced at the dealership. We don't have those emissions test here in Ohio.

I take my Pulsar LT off each time before I have the truck serviced at the dealer, just in case. I think it can interfere with reading codes properly. When you put it back, you do not have to reset it, so it is not a big deal.

Has anyone or you experience a ESC and CEL coming on with the pulsar lt installed with a p0700 dtc I took it off to go to the dealership and it went right away I have not updated it yet or see if there is one seeing that I've only had it installed for about 3 weeks now. It's on a 2019 gmc sierra 1500 denali 5.3l

In AFM if you drive on 5, 7, or 9 AFM doesn't activate..... not sure if driving on manual with DFM if that would keep cylinders from deactivating.

Help! Got a 2020 Silverado 1500 High Country and got the LasFit L.E.D.’s.Changed back-up bulbs and Tag bulbs, BUT previous owner changed connectors to CE8030F-1 and I can’t locate the bulbs under the hood to save my life.

I am in PA and have a 2012 with the Flowmaster Super 44 cat back duals. I have the DFM disabler. We have yearly inspections here. I wonder if I'm going to have to unplug my progammer... 😲

Lonestar - pulsar does tell you to remove it before servicing. That’s cause you can’t scan codes with it installed as you found out. OnStar diagnostics fail with pulsar also. Just part of the deal in having one. Sometimes when starting, they can get flakey. Check engine light and some other crazy warnings. Happened to me twice in 17, 000 miles. Just remove negative battery cable, wait 15 secs and reattach. All is fine. Worth it to me as it unleashes that 6.2 best u can short of an ECM tune.

Interesting, I remember not too long ago I contacted the company that makes the Pulsar Lt and they informed me that I did not have to uninstall the Pulsar LT prior to my annual NYS inspection (not due till October). I wonder if you would still fail the inspections having the Pulsar LT still connected but all the settings put to factory (like having DFM/ Auto stop start on)? Seems a bit of a hassle to annually uninstall and install the Pulsar LT.

Does the pulsar cause any problems with voiding warranty?

I have a 2017 LTZ 1500 Silverado. As a truck owner, same as yourself, and most ppl that watch your channel, ; we're always adding upgrades/tweaking everything we know to do.. I'm in process of an aftermarket rear bumper,. Factory bumper had side-steps, however there's NO CUTOUTS for the exhaust, that on newer models. I've had mechanics, body shop workers say a 2020 will fit my 2017,.. other hav said won't fit due to have to unbolt bed to mount actual bumper?? Ever heard of this?? 1st for me!! I really want a rear bumper with slots for exhaust,.. makes look cleaner without exhaust hanging down,. Jmo.. thought about cutting out slots and folding around cutouts to look cleaner. Also curious,; where I will be running dual exhaust into quad at the very end/tips... should I go to smaller diameter tube? ie,.. 1 7/8 for last 2-3 ft of exhaust? If I go with 3inch ×4 [2 on each side] I am afraid I will be loosing wayyy too much bakpressure. I had 88gta Trans am and It had dual exhaust out back, on last 4feet of exhaust tube I stepped it dwn to 1 7/8 size, lil under 2in. for each exhaust tube(4 in all) it run so phuaqn sweet. With my 2006 tahoe I went 3in exhaust straight out each side behind rear wheels. I was soo disgusted afterwards,... it sounded nice but all my bottom end power was GONE!! So I ended up changing it to smaller diameter tubing(exhaust piping) I noticed on your ZR1 exhaust looks like 3in at end (tips) is just tips or is that running length of truck bed? How's that working for your off the line power, take off power,..? ? Also I have Diablo tuner and I luv luv luv that power !!! it really woke my truck up! & gettin over 40mpg in sport mode. It has grand pa mode, economy mode, and sport mode,.$300 for tuner, and $100 to get tune put on here locally, could probably done tune myself with laptop, but pressed for time (work) I decided to let pros do all programming . I was very impressed with results.. Any idea where and what yr model rear bumper I could get to suit my needs as explained in above novel I written here?((apologies for that)) I jus had a lot of info to put up to let u see,. Maybe give me some info,.. thx 4 any hlp u can give..

I learned from failing an inspection with my 2015 suburban that I had to take out my range afm disabler , reset and run through a drive cycle to pass inspection. You can do a drive cycle in 15 - 20 mins if you know the protocols

As a casual buyer , I traded my 2021 accord sport to Carvana for a 2021 Silverado rst because of Hondas issues and I liked the v8 power and unaware of this lifter problem till yesterday when I started getting the knock . Just wanted a reliable vehicle but now I’m stuck with GM,s silent thorn that got me unawares. After GM repairs all my lifters, I plan on getting the Pulsar after the warranty. I now can’t honestly trade it back to Carvana because of this defect, even w only 4500 miles, so I’m stuck with this unreliable but beautiful truck. BTW we lived in Kona 16 years then transferred to Denton , which looks like your neighborhood maybe Justin. Now in Florida with no vehicle inspection! Thanks for the information on your videos!

The Bully dog GT tuner does all that and more and I just passed inspection with it on the same truck also have a muffler delete straight cat's maybe that information will be helpful for you.

Does your truck have MANUAL MODE? if so put it in the M hit the plus all the way to 10 th gear guess what goes away? No 4 cyl to 8 cyl. Thats what I did before I bought a tuner.

I have a 2016 F165. No I did not type that wrong. It's a F150 with a 2.7 ecoboost aka a 165 cuin twin turbo v6. I used HP Tuner to raise my top speed limiter from 104 mph to 120 mph. For some reason the stop/start only work about 3% of the time now.

May find a shop outside your country in a non emissions county and have it inspected there. Not sure if that'll work since I don't have emissions testing where I live but definitely worth a try

I kinda like the sound of that exhaust with DFM working, kinda diesel truck sounding.

After seeing this I’m really glad my 21 all star edition has the chip shortage DFM delete ($50 invoice credit lol)-all v8 all the time. I still have to turn off start/stop, but I do that before I even plug my iPhone in lol.

I bought a 2021 trail boss without start stopping. Heated seats and steering wheel heated mirrors that was it for options bought it gently used with 39000 miles on it with no start stop the more options you have the more complicated it is keeping it simple is sometimes better to much technology doesn't always work.

I love my Pulsar LT on my 8spd Elevation. I had weird vibrations in my truck until I put this in it.

I live in Texas and have never had them touch my OB2 sensor. The entire inspection is conducted outside of my truck. That’s weird that they did that to your truck.

Hey bro, love the videos, what part of Texas are you in? The reason I ask is because I've never had an inspection place plug anything in to my vehicles. All they do, is check the head, tail, and brake lights, tires, lug nuts, wipers, e-brake and horn but never check my emissions or plug anything in my computer
