You forgot that he previously played a game as black that his opponent resigned. That's where the other 100% comes from. Easy mistake to make, could have happened to anyone.

@@TheGhostOfHallownest Logistics and subterfuge, my friend. It's all logistics and subterfuge. Not a single battle in Ukraine was in open battlefield. Not because they can't, but because sending 5 guys to blow shit up and wound a few soldiers may bankrupt a country in the long run. Equipment is extremely expensive and veterans are an economic burden (as heartless as this may sound). Back in the day, you hit supply lines. Your soldiers get hungry, you lose. Common wisdom back then was that it's always better to immediately pull out if the supply line gets any damage (which is why castles were so effective, btw, you couldn't just circumvent them... they'll make sure you get nothing) A soldier in a medieval army (or a Roman one, really) had a good chance to see no battle in his whole career, but live through several wars. Age of retirement for a Roman soldier was 40 years old, and most did hit it.

4:54 white had just promoted a pawn into a queen, and its dangerously near the black king. Fortunately for black, there is a free pawn on b5, which simultaneously protects the king. Of course he's not taking it

if you think about it - it is not. White has a lot of material in pawns, so if pawn on b5 will be captured by black queen, b7 still will be a move and there are only 2 options - kind evasion - queen lost, or queen captures queen and queen again lost. Black can't do anything with blocked paawns and bishop and one free knight. It was a loss as soon as it was promotion if not even earlier.
