Hello, everyone!
Part two of the beginner's guide covers ALMOST all of the important cooldowns that restoration druids have in their toolkit. There are two important abilities that I did not cover in this video:
1. Convoke
2. Incarnation: Tree of Life
This is because the video was getting to a length that was approaching one hour and I was getting tired of speaking so much! It is difficult to make sure I am explaining each concept clearly, while also making sure that I do not say something that is not accurate.
This video series is for players who are new to Restoration Druids and are very serious about learning how to play the spec and leveling up their skills to achieve whatever goals they have for themselves. There might be shorter guides out there, but my goal is to sequentially give you the tools that you need to succeed as a Restoration Druid. It would be a great honor for me to hear about some successes that you have in the future!

I rarely comment on KZfaq videos but wanted to say these two episodes would have saved me so much time. In a world of "guides" and "tips" you are the first creator I've seen who gives the fundamentals and layering the attention it deserves. I especially appreciate how you cover the theory and then specifically call out the minimum gameplay loop to get the majority of the benefit of that theory - too many others drop straight into the min-maxing.

I can totally go back over any particular concept or thing in the future that might have been unclear or too tightly packed into one section. So, if there’s anything you want me to better explain, please let me know!

Thanks for this series. I have played all the types of druid from damn Wotlk, but never tried rdruid. I did not like how you had to prepare before the pulls and not react to the damage party members take. Then i saw this series pop up and you make it look so effortless. I always play tanks and healers, but never resto druid. Very well explained a really useful for even a guy who does not like it, and I'm considering giving it a try even after the first video. This is phenomenal stuff. Some ideas for consideration for part 3: Would love a QoL commentary on how different tanks need to be considered. Also the ‘combo’ you mentioned of Swift/SotF/WGFlourish made me wonder how many other cool combos you have discovered/borrowed. A slo-mo party wide clutch save, focused on the party frames, explaining how it all comes together and what we are really looking at would be a top way to tie all that info from 3 videos together. Whatever do decide to show us I will absorb like a sponge regardless. A million thanks.

First off, thank you for taking the time to leave such a thorough and complete comment as it probably took you at least a couple of minutes to do so. Healer - Tank relationship commentaries, great suggestion and I have some things in the works about this! The part about blood DKs in part two was me offering a bit of advice about this as copium from hearing too much about "as a blood DK, I hate playing with resto druid" type of comments, which must have been on my mind when I was recording this. However, there are a lot of points made by blood DKs that I think are super valuable critiques about healers that new Restoration Druids, especially, need to understand and know how to deal with. SM/SotF/WG/Flourish is a super powerful combo ------ both in M+ but an absolute MUST KNOW AND EXECUTE for rDruids in raids. Sneak peak here: you're trolling if you don't SM/SotF/WG in raids, almost every time you press WG these things should be paired together. This video was my first exploration into how in the world do I even edit something, so as I learn and develop some new skills in editing, I am absolutely open to have some more party frame focused segments to hone in on! I really appreciate your effort to leave detailed feedback and thoughts for me. I would love to get some thoughts about upcoming videos and projects that I am working on currently, if you'd be interested in that type of thing in the future because you had some great suggestions/thoughts derived from this video. Okay, so I did my best to look into this. Here is the best explanation of the code that I could get to from actually opening it in good 'ol VSCode: This function takes a count (the number of "Adaptive Swarm" stacks on a unit) as an argument and returns a priority value. The priority values are defined in a table where the keys are the stack counts and the values are the priorities. The aura_env.priority function **this is as good as I could do here** If a unit has 2 stacks of the spell, it's very important (priority 2) to refresh the spell on them. If a unit has 1 stack, it's somewhat important (priority 1) to refresh the spell. If a unit has 3 stacks, it's not important (priority 0) to refresh the spell. The aura_env.getOptimalAlly function uses this rulebook to decide who to cast the spell on next. It looks at all the units with the spell and checks if the spell can be refreshed (i.e., reapplied before it wears off). If the spell can be refreshed on a unit, the function checks the unit's priority according to the rulebook. If this unit's priority is higher than the current best unit's priority, or if the priorities are the same but this unit's spell will last longer, then this unit becomes the new best unit. In the end, the function returns the best unit to cast the spell on, according to the outcome of the 2 - 1 - 0 priority.

Oh my goodness, great job, thank you for this. I wonder why 2 stacks are more important to update than 1, it probably has to do with splitting the swarm after expiration, but either way it's good to know how it works.@@estesthebestes

@estesthebestes
@estesthebestes 6 ай бұрын
Refresh lifebloom in the pandemic window (last 3ish seconds to be safe) if you want to continue to have lifebloom on the same target. This will make sure that LB still blooms and you have 100% uptime. If you want to move it, depending on the situation, you will want to either wait for it to fall off of the current target or disregard the bloom effect if you need to prio heal someone else. This is HIGHLY situational.

I totally get that! I can be a bit slow and methodical and it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Thank you for leaving some feedback and I hope that you can still find some positive notes in it. :D

Thanks for enjoying the video! As for the pausing while speaking, I’m doing my best to not stutter as a kid I had a lot harder time with that, but I’m continuing to work on it!
