At 42:47, "When my Chinese students read Heidegger's... they actually find a lot of affinity..." One theory is that Heidegger simply lifted key concepts from Chinese thinkers. See Reinhard May's Heidegger's Hidden Sources: East-Asian Influences on his Work.

There is the issue of inspiration. No one works in a vacuum. There are endless attempts to show that the Buddha's ideas were merely a continuation of Upanishadic/Vedic concepts. Sure, Heidegger might have been 'influenced' by a variety of ideas but declaring that he lifted from other sources is not seeing his own reflections and interventions.

I think the Pro'fessor would benefit from a familiarity with Sri Aurobindo's Hindu philosophy which echoes the Western philosophy at the level of the plane of the mind and then transcends it into the supermind which could be compared with Hegel's Absolute Spirit; also cf the notion of immanence picked up by Gilles de Leuze re Aurobindo's presentation.
Yeah, to go back to the freshness, the openness, the purity of the greek beginning in order to really seize eastern thought in its volition.
