I was there! Plax scored twice in the NE corner of the end zone where my season tix are, 11th row...I've been within 50 feet of some awesome touchdowns over the years. The best was Hail Mary from Cousins to Nichol vs. Wisconsin. I knew he broke the plane right away, because my seats look right down the goal line. After what seemed like a lifetime, the ref finally came on and said - "after further review, touchdown!" The place friggin exploded! Now it would be sweet to win the first ever playoff! Lofty goal, but Coach D is for real! He's got Sparty going full speed, every play, whistle to whistle.

Nick Saban vs Tom Brady. Unreal.

@gill2069 Considering the fact that Drew Henson got them in the 17 point hole and Brady almost brought them back I'd say your observation is flawed. Henson and the Michigan boosters are the reason the Maize and Blue fell short of a national title shot that year.

Sorry. Saban stepped off the gas on defense and went prevent. As great of a coach as Saban is, that move alomst came back to bite him.

Great football game ! A real classic! The thing that cracks me up is people think Brady was pulled, he wasn't him and Henson split time until the next game. Brady played 1 and 4 th quarter . Brady wasn't the superstar QB he would become but he only played football starting in high school . He was a very solid and smart QB who lacked one thing at that time : a strong arm. . He was the last guy to leave the practice field, he was a film watching junkie. He worked harder than just about anyone. He was a real leader and was tough as nails physically and mentally. Belichek didn't make Brady. Brady worked his tail end off to be where he is today. Good coaching in college and the nfl but tom put in the long hours to become great and he was clutch st Michigan and of course in the nfl. He was the comeback kid. Msu had a great d line and game plan and Burris was a machine out their. Still can't figure why Lloyd didn't double team him . Gary Scott was a good reciever for msu on the opposite side of Burris . Still that comeback by Brady despite Michigan losing was a sign of things to come in a hostile environment, that was a great game and msu wisely scored a field goal at the end and gave Brady virtually no time . State made more plays and deserved to win but that was a great game . That michigans team could of gone undefeated. The game I was mad about was the next week when they had a huge mental breakdown and let Illinois comeback from a 29-7 deficit . But the year ended great with a orange bowl win vs highly ranked Alabama and a 10-2 record and coming back from two touchdown deficits twice , that's resilience! Go blue! The current team needs to develop and become like these teams, it's been very average and not good enough for michigans standards

This is the first MSU-UM game I remember watching. I missed the flea flicker because I had a soccer game that day. But caught the final 3 quarters or so. Go green.

@@abczyx4815 The series is dead even since the start of this game (that is, the lifetime of most current players). Even going back to '84, it's 21-17 in UM's favor. But sure, MSU beating UM is some once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence...

They were rotating QB's. It really started to hurt them as a team, especially in this game, where Brady was playing so much better than Hanson, and almost brought UofM back. By the end of the year they were almost entirely Brady.

Brady was pulled from the game then in the 4th quarter he caught on fire and nearly willed Michigan to the win. It took a 3rd down catch with 2 min. left from Plaxico to seal the win.

brady couldn't beat MSU😂😂
@ramirofonseca98155 жыл бұрын
In fairness to Brady, he didn't get to play the entire game. I was at that game. Coach Carr foolishly (like Dantonio did with Cousins and Keith Nichol vs CMU when he should have just played Cousins) played Henson when he should have only played Brady. Still though, I think I MSU was the better team that year. That final score was not indicative of the pounding MSU put on Michigan. I think the more accurate statement would be that Michigan couldn't beat MSU. not that day. nobody could check Burress. He was the difference.

What might have been if MSU could have kept Nick Saban. Oh well.
@ramirofonseca98155 жыл бұрын
Nick Saban was a jerk. The president at the time, McPherson was a nerd who had no business dealing with Saban. The facilities weren't there at the time. MSU, for some odd reason, doesn't seem to want to put the money necessary into the football program. it's very frustrating. I've heard this from someone who is very good friends with one of the trustees.
