Ok there are two constant issues I’m seeing in the comment section so I'll address it here rather than spending Christmas replying to each individual comment. 1. Daniel Sterns scream A lot of comments are saying I’m wrong and the scream was put in post, but I’m just going by Daniel Stern’s own mouth where he says he was told to scream as the spider wouldn’t be able to hear him where he gave off a scream like “Psycho” but hey don’t take my word for it, it’s on KZfaq, in a documentary called The Making of Home Alone. Here is the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZtxodSG3L_VooU.html skip to 13:24 of that video to hear Stern talk about the scream he did then hopefully that’ll put some of the commenters at ease. 2. Oh you obviously watched The Movies that made us Yes I did use ‘The Movies that made us’ as a resource as I did with other documentaries and articles and websites for this episode, how else am I meant to do research?? I even mentioned ‘the Movies that made us’ at the end and said it was a great help to making this video and recommended it to Home Alone fans. I think some people seem to think it’s a bad thing that I saw it to do some research but then if the fans don’t agree with you get accused of doing no research. Point is you just can’t win in the harsh realm of the comment section. I hope this has cleared some issues up, take care peoples and Merry Christmas. I hope all your wishes and dreams come true and you get cool pressies.

Oh and at one point Kevin watches ‘Angels with the filthiest souls’ starring Johnny’s son. Kevin quips “the third one is always the worst”

The boy who played Kevin's cousin Fuller is Macaulay Culkin's brother Kieran. Macaulay Culkin drew the map that his character uses to set up the traps. Macaulay Culkin's stunt double was a very short 30-year-old man. Director Chris Columbus' biggest fear as a kid was burglars. It's part of why he wanted to make this movie At the end of the movie where it snows outside Kevin's house, the snow was actually mashed potato flakes. Break out the human analogs and the CT scanner and see what happens when a human skull meets a matched velocity paint can, or bricks thrown downward (repeatedly) from 60 ft., or a blow torch for the same number of seconds. How does a body hold up when it falls from a duplicated number of feet on to it's back, or mashed by 300 lbs. of tools against a wall. I've seen Home Alone 1 & 2 shown on network TV with some of the traps rather severely edited.

I have always had a fear of glass christmas balls due to a dreadful accident I had as a kid. Not only do they explode, but they go everywhere and I ended up with glass in my feet and a sliver in my eye. Being 7 years old and having your Mother telling you to not shut your eye while on the way to the hospital was tantamount to hell on earth. Now, being a senior citizen and having watched Home Alone since it came out, those fears always come rushing back, but I watch it with my family every year because we love it so much! P.S. the sliver dropped out of my eye on the way to the hospital. Eyesight...a-ok.

I want that too just to watch the poor test dummies get trashed. I remember when both movies were on AMC with Story Notes that said what would happen to people who went through the traps:O The bricks to the skull would cause brain damage and death, the flaming head in the toilet bowl of gasoline explosion causes death, the skeleton-electrocution causes the heart to stop and death...lots and lots of death...let's petition Mythbusters to make a Christmas special just for the double feature!
@dmckim31743 жыл бұрын
It is not Mythbusters, but close. Mark Rober and Vsauce teamed up to test the traps, they even did it on a set that looked just like the movie. They each did a video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aZtgi8-c29SUe6M.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7SYnM2erLrbp6M.html

The Elvis guy has been confirmed that it is an actual extra who is used in several other movies and shows and not Elvis. The scream with the spider was added in after the scene. He didn't actually scream while they filmed the spider on his face in order to not scare the spider.

Number two with the spider, that scream actually isn't legit. During filming that scene he couldn't make a sound in fear of scaring the tarantula and it reacting and attacking. So they edited the sound of him screaming in later.

You're wrong Minty the scream was dubbed in because they was worried that it would cause the spider to bite. The actor also said that he is only doing one take and he said that he had to move his mouth to make it look like he was screaming.

Trivia: In the original draft of the screenplay, it was revealed Harry and Marv are working for Uncle Frank and Uncle Frank hired them to rob the house and also to kill Kevin. There was a scene that was filmed and cut which Uncle Frank calls Kevin "Yank" and cruelly humiliates Kevin by pulling Kevin's trousers down.

Another quick note that I heard somewhere: At times Joe Pesci forgot he was in a family comedy, and would occasionally drop F-bombs. Because of this, he supposedly came up with that muttering thing he did in both this movie and in Home Alone 2 to try to refrain from dropping them as frequently. Also, along with his appearance being a favor to John Hughes, John Candy also improvised almost all of his lines.
