@larryhurley2314 Yes, nope, changing the exhaust pressure of an engine to breathe can cause all kinds of problems, just like sticking a gas mask on you and then having you run a Marine military 3 miles in 24 minutes. Today's computers can try to adjust things, but they are programmed to expect certain parameter boundaries. Outside of these the computer can make erroneous corrections. Sticking a potato up the exhaust isn't in the computer's boundaries to just adjust and soldier on, it simply can't correct for that extreme. So shoving restriction crap up an exhaust can be expensive. Running an old 60s engine with st8 pipe, switching to dual headers comes to mind as a no-no. The engine is designed for back pressure. You have to account for it. I have not seen, heard of burner valves since 1970, it was on a car, a 440 ci, that the exhaust had been modified to reduce restriction, lean burning, best as I can recall, it's been a long time, but I do recall the valves damage was credited to the modified exhaust.
