Hi! I just want to point out that unfortunately, the zooming-out trick no longer works. 😭 It was patched when the game released.

@@FoxTreeSky They have added a moonstone detector! Once you get it, there’s a blue ring that surrounds the compass, telling you that you’re “close” to one.

Thanks for the video! I'm glad I wasn't the only one searching for clay for a while. An extra little tip I found is that once you've opened a loot chest, you can pick it up by holding R and take it home to use for storage so no need to craft more of them!

I LOOVEEE card games like Slay the Spire, Monster Train and Roguebook! Deckbuilder and farming are two things I did not expect to see together

I'm SO looking forward to this game. It looks adorable, and the monsters look so unusual, so I'm sure there will be a lot of fun surprises along the way. Thanks for the tips in advance: honestly, I would never have thought that Earth monsters would be where you'd get clay, either. It's kind of a hilarious detail, though!

Another tip that wasn't mentioned here. Try and get a glider asap. You get the recipe fairly early and it's worth the moonstones it takes

Make a bunch of sprinklers with the copper and iron and cut down all wild plants you find for their seeds. Investing in the skill for a third seed may be able to carry your crop needs for that whole month without having to buy or water any of your crops.

There's a lot to figure out at first, but once you do figure it out it's pretty simple! 😄

It gets a bit complex at first but then it's pretty simple to figure things out. Use brooms to travel, collect resources, fight against monsters, and exploring is the whole gameplay loop (it's still very free though - the quests are very loose and it's something you can just casually do sometimes)

For anyone posting that the control + mouse wheel doesn't work for zooming out - pretty sure that was a dev tool as the early access people actually got was the beta version of the game. That command never worked with the official release version.

I’m a bit late as I just got this game and you may have mentioned them since, but I found that the statue where you get the return flute can be right clicked daily, marking it sparkle. It’ll give you an item where the flute was the day after. I also got some spirits with useful other abilities, like the eevee one increases your social chances by 5% and the apple worm one cuts grass it goes over. I forgot their names.

New things I learned from the video: 1. You can harvest seeds from new plants with the scythe. I was searching for so long and it's already summer... 2. You can place the food for the spirits into the stall. I've always fed the spirits directly. 3. You can zoom out?! ... Oh, just read this isn't a "feature" anymore.

Do you know if there's a way to get the map to zoom out (hunting for moonstones!) with the gamepad/controller? I prefer a controller, and I couldn't get the way you described for mouse and keyboard to work (holding ctrl and scrolling just cycled through inventory).

This game is super wonderful, having a great time with it so far, thanks' for the TIPS Josh.. In the tutorial Dad tells you to get seeds by using the scythe.

The game is compatible with controller but trying to hold down the left trigger button to open the tool wheel doesn't work. Not sure if it's me or if it's a bug

A spirit that will do poison damage is super helpful since the earth spirits are usually weak to poison and it can keep on dealing damage even when their armour is back up

Pressing CTRL and using rhe center roller is not zooming out for me. I have both controler and mouse. I looked at the settings and it says M for map but nothing else.

@@pedroeugenio1975 I think I watched play through and someone sa8d it was a feature during testing but it has been removed. The medalion gains a skill later to find the moonstones. But I did not notice what triggered the addition. The different lines glow as you get closer. It is still confusing for me at this point. I am sure i will figure out how to read it. The medallion's capabilities could be a new post for Josh.

Hey, thank you for the tips! Does anyone know how to switch the positions of the spirits in the battle? For example, I need spirit with more Def to be in front, not in the back >

I believe that in this game position in battle does not matter. Enemy spirits can attack any of your spirits, just like you can attack any of theirs.

Hey, here's one i had to figure out. If you want to move a furnace it has to be empty. I spent way too long trying to move those things.

Do you need to unlock a skill or something in order to fish? I bought the fishing rod and I am 2 days in game and I can select every tool but the fishing rod.

I love games like this but idk its a large area and theres a lot of things thrown at you i forget how to do things and just run around trying to figure it out. I mostly dont get that much past the intro at this point. It seems like a great game just i don't think its super user friendly at first when your playing blind as a new player. Thats my only complaint with the game cause the combat was fun and its beautiful and theres a lot of characters i love that.

Does anyone know why the spirits I battle always have a lock in front of their heart?? I can’t feed them with a lock, or it seems like nothing happens when I do…?

It means that you can't tame them due to space or level.

If you keep fighting spirits you'll soon level up and one of the options is to be able to tame spirits of a higher level! This should unlock many more of those for you to tame. I don't believe this is down to medallion/barn space because it should still let you tame them if you have no space but will then force you to release them

You can do so using the mirror of introspection, which can be crafted with the moonstone enchanter. I don't remember exactly how you unlock the recipe, but it shouldn't take too long!

I made the mistake of capturing 3 spirits below level 5 and now I have to get rid of one to be able to do the scientist's mission, I was sad! Should have watched the tips video before 😅

You don't have to get rid of one to complete his quest! Just attempt to tame a new one and let that one go. Still checks off

If I want to go from one level to the other and there's no ladder, I usually just fly off and fly back to the other level. I don't know if it makes sense or answers your questions.

Don't skip tutorial, it does explain a lot of the farming aspects and I've heard you are given a random spirit if you do skip so there's no real benefit. I might restart because it's also possible to cut all the grass on the starter island before leaving with no time loss for extra resources.
