In this video we show you 10 BOAT HACKS that make our life aboard much easier. They are our TOP BOAT ESSENTIAL ITENS. After experimenting different accessories along these 4 years sailing and living aboard we found that these 10 are the ones we most use and would advise other cruisers to get.
There are a lot of unnecessary gadgets that we fell temped to buy and in the end they just use space at the boat and get sucked inside a forgotten compartment that we never touch. That’s not what happens with the items we mentioned here, nowadays we try to be more straight forward and only get what really makes the difference.

Hey Georgia, Love your spray bottle idea. I've taken it one step further. I installed a salt water foot pump to a faucet in the sink. So I wash with salt water and then I have a spray bottle with fresh water to rinse the dishes. Works great and saves so much water. Our 100 gallon tank has been know to last us a month for cooking and washing.

Hi, Few more things could be added to your list 1. Broadband router like PEPLINK. 2. Phones with the virtual sims (like iPhone Xs) very helpful for island hoping and Google Fi). 3. Small wet vacuum, even running on shore power (125/220). They are quickly suck all water from the bilges after boarding waves. 4. Small scuba equipment (tank+regulator) to check boat under body, anchor settings, remove lines from the prop, have some fun, etc. 5. For sailors boom brake is a must to avoid accidental jibing.

Thanks so much for the tips, great ones. Have you ever tried virtual sims? curious to know if they work nice. Never thought about the wet vacuum, it would be a nice addition to the boat. We do have scuba gear, didn’t add to the list but they are of great help to clean the hull. The other day Diego dropped an important small piece from the outboard at the sea, thanks to the scuba he managed to rescue it! 👏👏 thanks for following our adventures!

Plus 1 for the paddle boards, they are such a great addition to a cruising boat. A folding bicycle is really handy too, if you have the room to store it that is.

KKKKKK old and dear Frank, he was already part of crew, life saver along with the paddle boards when we lost the dinghy. We donate them to other sailing friends, they were so happy, but we met them a while ago and they were sad because they lost Frank, poor thing, maybe know he is in Tonga together with our old dinghy! hahahahahahaha

Wonderful tips guys. One thing that I thought would be useful are puzzles, or table top games, to relax and e spend some time when it is raining or what else (I have it at home) Dicas maravilhosas gente. Uma coisa que eu pensei que seria útil são quebra-cabeças, ou jogos de tabuleiro/mesa, para relaxar e passar o tempo quando está chovendo ou qualquer coisa (tenho eles em casa)

Here in the Pacific Northwest, latitude 49, we use Computer fans, I get them from the recycler, very cheap, and they are 12 V. I like the water filter idea, will do that and will do the sprayer thing for showers. We have the 12 Volt vacs already. Muchas Gracias.

Opa tranquilo? Eu comecei a ver todos os vídeos do canal depois que conheci, a algumas semanas atrás e estou nesse agora. Sempre me perguntei sobre essa questão de tomar banho no mar, limpeza do barco, louça, banheiro e coisas relacionadas, esses produtos não fazem mal pra vida marinha? Principalmente tomar banho onde usamos bastante shampoo e sabonete.

Uh uh já deixei algumas coisas dessas compradas na Amazon. Os ventiladores são super úteis lá na Europa também. O verão é matar!!! Amamos o Kindle também, o espaço que ele ocupa é mínimo! Uma coisa que adoramos são as luzes de led. Temos em todo lugar, dentro dos armários, na geladeira, nos lockers

The Caframo fans with the bare soft blades are the best. You don't need to run the fan on high. On low it moves almost as much air with low noise and very low energy use. It's easier to clean the blades too since they just pop off to clean. Even better than folding bikes is a folding bike trailer. The Burley Travoy trailer holds a grocery cart of groceries and you can easily pull it by hand without even the bike over rough terrain. We would go without the bikes before we gave up the bike trailer. We pull when walking more than behind the bikes. It folds up to the size of a backpack frame when the wheels pop off and everything goes into the bag. It takes up almost no room in the dinghy.

Muito bom. Eu usava estes itens todos quando fazia cruzeiros longos. Só não tinha a Lucy Light. Mas o que me chamou mais atenção foi aquele filtro de carvão ativado de colocar diretamente na torneira. Eu também não comprava água em garrafas plásticas, tinha um filtro de cerâmica para a mangueira, usava uma pequena pastilha de cloro no tanque e um container com filtro de carvão ativado para a água de beber. Este filtro na torneira é super prático, fantástico. Em tempo, fiz isto por 4 anos e nunca eu ou minha família ou tripulantes tivemos algum problema. Água nestes containers plásticos em que são vendidas são muito pior.

Boa Luiz Fernando, 100% de acordo. Temos um filtro de cerâmica também na tubulação antes de passar pela torneira e o de carvão depois. Essas pastilhas são legais não temos mais encontrado por aqui, tenho que procurar. Obrigada pelo feedback! Abração e bos semana

@@UnforgettableSailing A pastilha de cloro (tamanho de um comprimido) é mais difícil de achar. Em geral elas são para caixas d'água. Eu achava para 500l, como meu tanque era de 300l usava meia.

Hi guys. Pretty nice the video and the list. Perhaps you guys could talk a little bit more about tool kits to have a board and how to keep it clear and tidy. I've seen Diego always doing maintenance and it is a huge mess for me. Usually, I have more than I really need and it easily rusty. It sucks, definitely!

Eu tive minha primeira bike quando criança um bike dobrável. Azul. Acho se chamava monareta. Não tinha nada a ver com náutica, mas era o mesmo sistema. Isso já tem uns 35 anos.kko

Thanks so much, always nice to see you here! We double filter the water, first a ceramic filter and the this carbon activated, from time to time we also add a few drops of chlorine to the tanks and twice a year we do a complete cleaning on the tanks. Wish we could have an even better filter but this ones usually require power so not an option for us right now. Hahaha, that’s true we are rested, no night shift for a while now! How are you doing? Água por mais limpa que seja (nunca sabemos o quão limpa é), armazenada num tanque por 15-20 dias não é própria para consumo. Filtro ameniza o gosto, mas não elimina bactérias, recomendo ferver a água antes. Acrescento o multiteste, entre tantas ferramentas, acho que este é o instrumento mais importante a bordo.

Legal Marcos, pois é quanto a água nem engarrafada temos como saber a qualidade. Usamos dois filtros, um cerâmica e um carbono e de tempos em tempos colocamos umas gotinhas de cloro nos tanques, 2x por ano fazemos uma limpeza completa neles. O ideal seria um filtro mais power ainda mas a maioria necessita de eletricidade aí já não rola para nós, os de barro tb são ótimos mas aí tb é difícil achar lugar no barco, hehe! De fato multiteste é muito usado por aqui! Diego tá preparando um vídeo com as ferramentas essenciais para ele e não pode faltar o multímetro! Hehe! Muito obrigada por viajar com a gente! Abração

Eai casal de boa? Olha só, por esses dias eu adquiri uma panela aqui meio que revolucionária! Aumenta muito a vida saudável e ela é bem econômica, tipo muita economia de tempo praticidade tudo! Tenho levado ela pro meu trampo pela facilidade, acho que vale a pena conhecer, o nome é Royal Prestige, aqui no Br ela é vendida tipo pirâmide hinode herbalife assim... meio caro para nós porém eu comprei de 2°mão mesmo. Pesquisa, vale a pena, cada centavo.

@@UnforgettableSailing cara ela é uma panela de aço cirurgico que assa e cozinha ao mesmo tempo, e muito simples de usar, alem de cair para metade ou um terço o tempo de cookção dos alimentos, eu faço uma refeição completa aqui com todos os requisitos, proteina, carboidrato bom, e leguminosas em 20 m no maximo! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bM-oh7p4xsrGl6c.html

Olá amigos!!! Boa semana para vocês !!! Listei aqui equipamentos que indicaram e temos ou não temos !! Quase todos nós temos com variações exceto item 10 e extra o 11 !!! Quanto ao item 6 no nosso caso temos algo bem diferente é um dos equipamentos em teste a bordo !!! Mostrarei o que temos quando vierem a bordo vai surpreender vocês !!! Adoro essas dicas as bicicletas são Boa ideia vou providenciar !!! Um grande abraço e fiquem bem e seguros !!! ⛵⛵👍👍👍

Tiveram que voltar os vídeos pra segunda de novo? O algoritmo é implacável mesmo quem sabe tbm não reavaliam a ideia dos vídeos em inglês pq o alcance que esperavam não veio, foram tentar acompanhar o Odd Life mas ali o público é outro, estratégia agressiva e engajamento diferenciado

Fazer os videos em inglês realmente não foi uma boa ideia, espero mesmo que eles reavaliem! Falo inglês, mas os videos não ficam legais. Perderam naturalidade e espontainedade!
