Finally! I love that your video shows this style grapple picking up logs!! Thank you !! It looks like grapples with more rounded prongs would do a better job, but I can see here that this more squared off shape works just fine. ... and lots of good general information too. Very helpful in making my decision which one to purchase.

Amen brother! You've got it right. I would also add that unlike a bucket, a grapple doesn't need to be wider than the tractor.

@@timbertimeoutdoors9836 Hi What was The weight of the grapple that was “too heavy”. ? What is the weight of the new one that is lighter? I have the exact loader, need to know a weight reference.

Liked your video! Great action shots. Not easy Doing Stuff and making a video. Then having to put it all together. I use pallet forks right now. I will have to wait on the Grapple but good Information.

Good video except the audio. I had to keep adjusting the volume since the music was way louder than your speaking. Good points on the hoses and fittings. Thanks!

Great tips. In future videos please be aware of your audio volumes. Dialog was really soft compared to the opening music. The backround music for the action was extremely loud. Other than that nice vid.

Great video. Question - Do the two pistons operate independently of one another? I see the two hoses running to each piston on the grapple but in gripping an uneven load how does one piston know to stop closing before the other? Is there two buttons/controls on the 3rd function valve controlling each piston or do they stop automatically when closing on an uneven load? I'm looking to buy a grapple and I like the feature of the two independent jaws. Best regards and thank you for all responses.

You can't control each piston independently but they do clamp down at different thicknesses so you can hold uneven loads better.

What happens is that the main hydraulic line feeds both cylinders, and they both close till they can't close anymore. If one stops, the other keeps closing till it hits its hydraulic stop, or equal resistance as the other cylinder.

Nice video. Any thoughts on the grapple now after using it for a couple of years? Customer service? I’m in the market for one and am considering this (520 lbs), or the 72-8 (690 lbs). My 48hp Branson loader is rated for 2700 lbs at the pins.

I did break a weld on it this spring. They fixed it for free. I made a video on that. Small company but great support if you live close to them.

Sorry couldn't hear anything you said. One thing people need to know when buying a grapple for a compact tractor is buy one that is not overweight. The more the grapple weighs the less you can lift. Your grapple looks like it weighs in 450 lbs. or more. A compact tractor should have one under 300 lbs. There are only a few that weigh 250-260 lbs. I am talking about a tractor like a L2501 or any in that series. It looks like your tractor has got a better lift capacity. My comment was only for those with low lift capacity they need to beware of heavy grapples.
