my mother had inlaws like that they constantly told my dad that my mother was a con artist only wanting him for his money even though he worked at a grocery store and his parents had stolen the money he sent home from the military already, and they constantly tried to get him to leave her and when he died 6 yrs into the relationship they blamed my mother for 'letting' a 30 yr old man have a motorcycle and then proceeded to not inform her that he'd been in a wreck even though they knew, then when she got to the hospital they yelled at her that she was going to be a rich widow and he wasn't dead yet, and then they asked for money for new carpet and when she said wait until we find out if he's going to live will ya, they got mad and when he did die they told the funeral home my mom wasn't good for the money and cashed in the policy they had on him and didn't put it toward his funeral. my mom only got $25 k and she was a 26 yr old single mother newly widowed and was going to lose the new house they'd just bought and didn't have a job. so I understand why she refused their new carpet request lol my grandparents were horrible people and they would refuse to see me, I was 3, and my mom never told me anything they did to her until I was 16 and when I was 14 and my grandfather died my grandmother told the family not to let me know he died and to never speak to us again, she moved away and I didn't see her until she got alzheimers and didn't remember to be a horrible person she was really nice the last 3 yrs of her life hahahaha but anyway you think you have it bad! my mom would take them groceries and she would do anything to help while she was there she tried her best to kill them with kindness but it was never enough. my mother even said if she needed her to she'd take care of her in her old age just like her own mother even though my dads been dead 40 yrs now and she treated her like that! ok I'm done sorry this is so long but I had to get some of the things they did in here and trust me there was so much more that I'm sure I don't even know about. they are all dead now including my mother.

also wanted to mention my mom's parents loved my dad to death and in their eyes he could do no wrong and he certainly wasn't that good but he wasn't too bad but my mom's parents would take his side if there was any conflict lol so he at least had great inlaws and he preferred to visit them and my mom had to make him visit his parents which they thought ofc she was keeping him away but that's another long post I will stop.
