Summary of this video and his points. Watch the whole video for details. 1. So long as you are three tiles away from a coast, you can build ships. 2. Switch techs/civic at the halfway point then complete their respective objectives if you can. 3. Take settlers from other players in early game, giving you a free settler (i.e. no production cost and in an area you can settle it). 4. Weaken enemy civs in the early game due to the low to no warmonger penalty, including on city states. 5. Use builder to clear out rain forest before building a district 6. Build districts in a diamond or triangle formation 7. Get involved in the 'city-state game' 8. Theological combat massively impacts cities faith towards a religion, and can be conducted without being at war, good for religious victory. 9. Spies can be used to steal art work for cultural victory 10. Nuclear weapons are intensive, but powerful when made and can be fired from anywhere to anywhere.

Some of my tips that may help you guys. 1. Use your scout to scout in a circle around your first city. This ensures you have knowledge of where you want to put your second city. 2. Always have a good army in the ancient era. Not appeasing AI civs' agendas in the early game often leads to war. 3. Always watch out for barbarian camps. There are times where a barbarian camp may spawn in between two of your cities. 4. If you can't catch/kill the barbarian scout, go and kill the encampment if you know where it is. Even if the scout finds where you are, it is useless if the encampment is destroyed. From what I have learned, a scout made by one camp cannot notify a different encampment.

speaking of capturing civilians and tempo, I started a game with the Aztecs last night. I don't intend on finishing it, but the Eagle Warrior's ability to convert defeated enemy warriors to your builders can massively boost your early cities while saving you production hammers on building them yourself. It's often worth it to just build a bunch of Eagle Warriors early on and get involved with wars against other civs even when you have no intention of taking their cities--just murdering most of their military to get about five free builders and extorting a bunch of gold from them in the peace terms can give you a massive tempo boost. Which, coincidentally, perfectly describes the real life Flower Wars that were a massive part of Aztec society--the Aztecs would organize wars with other states just to capture sacrificial captives and boost themselves up.

If you do another, I think it would be worth mentioning that if you completely surround a city, it can no longer heal itself. This is very useful in early game when siege units are not available and you're chipping away at city health.

Correction : After nuking a city, when you capture it, get the unit which captures it 4 tiles out of the city next turn itself. Or it'll die due to the residual radiation damage. Ps. Radiation can be seen using strategic mode.
@Maren6177 жыл бұрын
About tip 2: since the number of techs you have determine your production costs (they go up) and production is usually the bottleneck and not science, I tried a different technique of focusing on production and commerce and beelining ONLY the techs I really wanted without any efficiency at all. Result: I easily won a science victory with only 3 campuses in 15 cities (King difficulty only, but was so far ahead I could have gone up a notch or two). So, since early scientific advances can slow your production to a crawl, I think right now you should NOT aim for efficient research to win. Ever wonder why your new cities need 254 turns to build the same monument your first city needed 10 turns for? Research is to blame!! I hope they change this though, it's so counter-intuitive and doesn't make sense...

Civ6 tips: From capital, build nothing but slingers into archers for 50 turns, conquer your neighbours, sign peace leaving them a village. Then build a dozen chariots and upgrade them to knights with the peace gold, conquer your more remote enemies. Finally, as you are now control most of the world and your enemies are reduced to vilages, decide what victory condition you want and get it.

@jimbob15heat7 жыл бұрын
farms provide 0.5 housing also when you get urbanization via culture you can build housing districts that provide 1-6 housing depending on the land value.
@alexroseification7 жыл бұрын
You need to consider water source when you are settling a city as settling on a city with fresh water gives you +3 housing right off the bat. If you need to settle off of a river go coastal (+1 initial housing) or worst case scenario make sure you can build an aqueduct at a nearby fresh water source (river, oasis, lake, or mountain) which provides up to +6 housing and as long as your improving your tiles you should be fine. (what james said about the neighborhoods [housing district] as well)

I just plunged into Civ 6 yesterday after years of playing all the previous versions. I find this the most complicated of the series and am struggling to make the switch from Civ 5. I also am not too keen on the aesthetic after the more realistic and less-cartoony Civ 5. I always wait years before buying a Civ game due to the DLC and add-ons, you can spend £150 if you buy at release and get all the add-ons :) I respect they have changed things for a new game, this plays nothing like the previous game apart from the tech tree being kinda similar.
