The Ecto-1, the iconic ectomobile featured in the 1984 movie Ghostbusters, is a distinctive vehicle that perfectly embodies the unique spirit of the paranormal investigation team. A modified 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance, the Ecto-1 is a striking combination of retro elegance and technological wizardry. With its sleek, elongated body, retrofitted ghost-catching equipment, and flashing lights atop its roof, the Ecto-1 exudes an air of both mystery and scientific prowess. It serves as the reliable and visually captivating means of transportation for the Ghostbusters as they race through the streets of New York City, answering calls to capture mischievous specters and safeguard the city from supernatural threats.

@@CarStarz42 I think you could easily expand this to 20-25 facts for each video and come closer to the 10min mark where you will eventually earn monetization when you get bigger. Also, your voice is kinda quiet, so I have to turn the volume way up to hear your videos vs normal. But overall, awesome info... Keep it up... SUBSCRIBED!!

@@mpd42781 For some cars, like the Ecto-1 for instance; that would be true, but for a lot of the more obscure car movies that I cover I can barely find 10 things to talk about sometimes. Yeah, the voice volume issue has been resolved on more recent videos and will be better going forward as well. Thanks for the suggestions and glad to have you as a subscriber as well 🙂👍

@@CarStarz42 I think the c5 gb siren was actually used on Cadillac based ambulances, when they were still actually used of course. Also these are actually called "professional cars". You put the coach builder name first, then the chassis branding like "Miller-Meteor Cadillac" for example. A channel called "fifthrider" has some really good videos that go in depth on these cars, when they were selling their 59 superior ecto (which is now owned by a replica film car hire company, "British Columbia DeLorean" or "bc DeLorean" for short, in Canada). The 59 Superior (the other 2 are Eureka and sayers and Scoville, or known as Hess and Eisenhardt, the Eurekas are ugly imo, but alot of hearse/ambulance enthusiasts like the Eureka for it's build quality, with Miller-Meteor being the "cheapo" out of the 4) is my favorite out of the 4 major caddy coach builders for the chrome trimmed curved rear windows, I like it more than the Miller-Meteors. But Harold and Maude bet the gb to the Superior

🤔 I used to run calls in a McCoy - Miller bus. I wonder if that company can trace its roots back to this bunch? I sure am glad I didn't have to treat and transport patients in this 1959 ambulance! We don't really have enough room even now as it is!

My modern Fraser ambulance is 8 feet wide, 24 feet long and masses 7 tons! Of course it's considerably taller, but interesting to know that the rig I drive now isn't all that much bigger than those of over half a century past.

Makes more sense to have gone with white. The ECTO-1 itself looks like a big ghost rolling down the streets. At least, as a kid, that's what i thought they aiming for with the car's look. Matched Mr. Stay Puffed.

Got a few facts wrong, for starters the light bars were different sizes, the rear was slightly wider and the grey primer car was actaully red with fire department logos. Besides that, you got her spot on! I wonder what’s next. Maybe ecto-1a? Who knows! Keep up the good work
@CarStarz42
@CarStarz42 Жыл бұрын
Thanks friend. Actually, that's a common misconception on the light bars; both were indeed Force-4 XLs, as you can just make out if you look at this photo enlarged... code3garage.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/cast_of_ghostbusters.jpg As for the primered car, I didn't look into the history of it to deep, just enough to know it wasn't the one that ended up being Ecto-1 😉

Apologies, I always thought the lights are different as, in afterlife they have a longer bar and most people say they used the wrong one, and sorry about the primer car.

@@GabrielStephens-mx9ji No worries, it's hard to keep track of this kind of info these days after so much time has passed since the original film. When in doubt I always refer back to images from the original since the pictures don't change over time, but people's memories tend to 😉
