Agreed 100% that Mainstage is an absolute revelation. I don't know how I managed before it! What keyboard is that you're using by the way?

Hello, regarding keyboard split with bass and piano, how do I split it to where when I transpose keys say for example + 2, the keyboard split stays in the same position on the keyboard as if I was playing without transpose. As of right now, when I transpose up or down, my keyboards split key goes up or down as well which is very annoying.
@hey_richard_this_is_tony4 жыл бұрын
Don't transpose the Keyboard, transpose the Layers seperately inside Mainstage @ Layer-editor. Guess you found out by now, but maybe this helps someone else.

Hi. Can you share some mainstage patches for me? I'm just new to mainstage and I would be glad to have some patches like you do
@OurWorshipSound3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph, yes, I believe if you register at ourworshipsound.com/keyboard , and go through a couple steps, you will have access to some free Mainstage patches. I also offer some premium patches at ourworshipsound.com/shop/ My favorite is the Synth Layers collection. Hope that helps!

Fantastic demonstration Peter; as always, you inspire and educate me. Will Mainstage work as well with an iPad? What is the name of your mini-controller? Thank You!
@OurWorshipSound6 жыл бұрын
You need a Mac computer for Mainstage, not iOS. The controller is an AKAI Professional MPK Mini

@ourworshipsound. in this video, what software does that piano, pads & strings come from?
@OurWorshipSound Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply - the sounds are all from the Mainstage sound set.

So awesome...is there a good windows alternative?
@OurWorshipSound3 жыл бұрын
The thing is that with Mainstage, the software is cheap but the computer is more expensive. With Windows, the computer can be cheap, but you have to buy expensive software to get comparable functionality. So no, there isn't a cheap software option for Windows that will get you in the same ballpark for what Mainstage can do.

Do you need an older Mac bcuz I heard new models don’t have as much rams
@OurWorshipSound5 жыл бұрын
No, the technical abilities of Macs have improved only a little the last several years, but they haven’t gone down.
@calebrabion4 жыл бұрын
1 thing that confuses me, is why the extra hardware when you can do all of that with most stage pianos or workstations already? They have sliders or assignable knobs, and buttons to save sounds. I guess it's a matter of preference.
@OurWorshipSound4 жыл бұрын
Not a matter of preference... many knobs and buttons on keyboards only work internally to that keyboard. They speak a language that other Mainstage doesn't understand, hence the need to supplement with a MIDI device.

Which is better gear for main stage ? Mac book air or Mac book pro ? & configurations for the same ?
@OurWorshipSound3 жыл бұрын
Generally, the Pro has more power. For reference, my MB Air has a 1.8GHz i5 processor and 8GB RAM.

Another great thing I recently discovered is you can use a hardware drawbar device to control the organ drawbars in Mainstage's Tonewheel organ sound. You can obviously do it with assignable faders or sliders on any controller that has them. But if you are used to pulling out and pushing in real drawbars, there's several you can find. Mine was made by Voce for the V3 that came out years ago. I have it velcroed to my top 61 key unweighted controller, and it is a real joy to have that quick option that feels very natural to those of us who have logged many hours on real Hammond organs. There''s no USB on the drawbar unit, just MIDI. Easily solved with an M-Audio Uno, which has a MIDI out cable that is converted to USB. If you have a newer Mac with no USB ins, a female USB to male Thunderbolt adaptor should do the trick.

Where is the sound coming out? Headphones, laptop speakers, somewhere else?
@mariosanchez88803 жыл бұрын
OurWorshipSound the sound is coming from the interface, out a mixer, and out the speakers that are connected to the mixer.

@@mariosanchez8880 Does it sound the same if you plug some headphones directly into your Mac and set the audio output to them?
