I like the lock on tips feature for the handheld Makita heater. Was using the DeWalt version and the Makita seems way more handy.

I use mine quite often and love it, Only a couple of times I've needed my old plug it one for more heat. As soon as they come out with the 40V, I'll be getting one also, but the !8v one is great for most things, even the battery last's a good long while. I do love how easy it is to pop out a hot attachment without touching it, my only complaint would be the LED not having a defector, the light is kinda lacking while heat shrinking wires in some tight places, otherwise I love the tool.

As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. kzfaq.infoUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.

I own almost 20 makita battery powered tools, and can't wait to buy more, especially their 40v line... Very satisfied.

I have been using a lot of makita too, but I'm thinking of switching to Milwaukee since they focus on more tools that are useful and not just fun like nr 1.

Since Makita tools shipped production from Japan to China, the quality has deteriorated a lot. I don't longer see the need to Makita's expensive price for tools that had lost it's quality advantage. And this is from a man who only bought Makita for his company.

@@Deontjie I still have a 3.0 makita battery I bought new in home depot back in 2008 that still holds a good charge to this day. Also, my uncle used a vintage makita corded angle grinder that was from the late 1970s early 80s that worked perfectly.

Why this video sucks.... The makita wheelbarrow and bicycle are old news The heat gun is a battery muncher The sander is way too big, not useful for contractors The messuring tape is poor, and metric only The locking wrench is old news Lantern is meh Water pump is corded, used once in a lifetime The rebar cutter is $$$$ The mini sander is just a toy The plunge cut saw is old news

I'm a tradie and I have 4 batteries. That's enough for me since I don't mind charging them as I go but my colleagues have 6+ batteries. So for people like me, it doesn't matter if it goes through batteries quickly. And for people who'd use a heat gun occasionally, they can do with a corded one. And as an electrician, I can say that you will NOT find a heat gun that won't chew on batteries as it's turning electrical energy into heat energy. Not in this decade at the very least...
