Well most people may not like them, but I love their greens with ham and a cruet of cider vinegar. I couple it with either the mac and cheese or with fried apples for a contrasts in tastes. I've been going to Cracker Barrel since they first opened and have never gotten a bad meal nor a bad server ever. One of the best places to eat when you are on the road. The quality of the food and service is consistently great no matter where you stop.

I always ordered the Haddock with Mac n cheese and dumplings. The took my Haddock off the menu! Now I order the hamburger steak smothered!

They come straight from a can, as does a lot of items from there. They just add liquid butter type stuff and spices to it

That’s one of my favorite places!! The smoked sausage is amazing, it is made by Purnells and come in a yellow tube at the grocery store.

You can actually get the Southern Fried Chicken any day of the week! My grandma had a recipe for Coke Cake and, she made it pretty regularly there’s Coke in the batter and there’s Coke in the Icing, but, my Grandma has a different recipe, after the cake is baked you top with a heated butter and mini marshmallow concoction and, you pour it over the top of the cake and, put the cake back in the oven for another 10 to 15 mins, then, once the cake is cooled you top with the slightly cooled icing.

I always order the Chicken and Dumplings with a side of more dumplings and a filled baked potato along with a hot Pumpkin Pie Latte with whipped cream (if it's around fall time bc that's really the only time it's really available unfortunately TwT). As for dessert, I order different things each time. My grandmother takes me often so she usually gets the same too except without the latte, she orders water or tea instead. We're going to try the breakfast menu next time for something different.

I recently ate at a CB and discovered that you can order the country veg. plate which is your choice of any three sides and if you want you can get all mac and cheese so I got that going for me

Love Cracker Barrel !!! When ever I get there I always get the Country Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes with Lots of the White Gravy , and the 2 sides r the Fried Apples. I don't order other things on the menu. I'm sure they're really good but I really love The Country Fried Steak, so I'm sticking with it. Please don't EVER take it off the menu !!!!! Also I Love the Country Store. It's fun to browse around in. Wish it was closer to my house. Only get there when I get up to the town it's in to go to Sam's Club and a mall. It gives me something to look forward to when I go up there.

I ordered Mac and cheese with Easter dinner to go, it was terrible, a cold plain elbow pasta with sprinkled shredded cheese on the top ,discussing. I had it in the restaurant and was creamy and tasty ,but never to go .

I have to say I agree with the majority of this list with one exception. I have gotten the broccoli before and it was practically raw. I know it was probably just a poor cook in the kitchen but not always a winner.

Oh just me again cook at the 201 letting you know to catch up does not go on before it's baked it goes on after 15 minutes of resting outside of the oven and yes we use Ritz crackers for our meatloaf

I just checked, and the nearest Cracker Barrel is over 20 miles away for me. That stinks. And, I don’t drive. I have been there a few times. And I so wish I had one closer. I would be there all the time

Cracker Barrel needs to bring back it's Beef Stew. That's all I used to eat there, when I was a kid. Their food is not as good as it used to be, plus they're more expensive now than ever. Not really worth it anymore because I'm Southern and I can cook better than them anyway.

6:56 The script writer is too young. Many towns around America had restaurants that specialized in chicken dinners, usually served family-style. That was before cheap, factory-farm chicken made places like the Colonel possible. Those restaurants were way better than today's plastic franchises.

I agree... sort of. Ketchup is ok as long as it's mixed with brown sugar and sauteed onions and then heated on the stove for at least 10 minutes. My mother always used ketchup, and, for that reason, I grew up thinking that meatloaf was nasty. (Ditto for salmon cakes.) Then, I tasted Yankee barbecue sauce, and I thought it (or some variation of it) might go well on meatloaf.

It literally comes in a plastic tube labeled veggie loaf they just put it in the Pan put ketchup over it and bake it in the oven .

I do not go to Cracker Barrel anymore!!!! One time I ordered catfish, hush puppies, greens and I got sick as a dog.. The greens smelled bad and after one bite, I pushed to the side. In a short time I was throwing up, stomach cramps and told Cracker Barrel and they never ever got back to me.. I know those greens had been left sitting out all night long and they would not fess up to it or even say they were sorry I got sick. NOTHING AT ALL.. horrible customer service but now I know they do leave leftover foods out of the fridge overnight.. Horrible experience to say the least.

The turnip greens come out of a can they just add meat seasoning to it and it sits in a warming pan on the line it is very popular so they do swap it out a lot at least where my store is.

I like Cracker Barrel, but I do not like this video! There is way too much going on visually, and I get the feeling that the narrator has never once eaten at a Cracker Barrel. Also, the chicken fried chicken is the best entree.
