So, me and some friends have had a running joke for years called "Yoshi-ing", which is our slang for a bleeding nose. We call it that because a certain friend always started having a bleeding nose while playing Yoshi on Mario Kart. Needless to day, the Yoshi's Safari sprite leak has changed our lives.

The "unknown" graphic at the end of the video is a nod to Nintendo's actual attempts at running love hotels before making it big with video games.

Fundoshi-kun's weird naked man intro screen is likely the namesake for the program... as it is a man wearing a fundoshi (japanese style underwear)... -kun is a name honorific that is generally applied to male colleagues (male friends in school, coworkers, or women with whom you have a very purely professional working peer or mentor relationship) Thus, fundoshi-kun is roughly translated 'underwear dude.'

The weird naked guy in Fundoshi-kun 3D Tool is the aforementioned Fundoshi-kun. a fundoshi is a type of traditional Japanese underwear consisting of a single long strip of fabric twisted and wrapped around the waist and between the legs. The word is often translated as loincloth. Also, the thing that REALLY set off the Triforce rumor for Ocarina of Time was the fact that an early trailer showed Link opening a chest and getting it.

I believe “Super Donkey” was just the super early prototype to Yoshi’s Island, at first Nintendo wanted Yoshi’s Island to be pseudo 3-d like Donkey Kong Country. Hence the name “Super Donkey.” You can definitely tell this prototype was made well after Super Mario Worlds release.

Nice, there were some things I didn't hear about from the leak. Beta Arceus was a cool idea. The shadowy figure would have worked in the game if he had been part of a larger plot, instead of being relegated to an event that was mostly inaccessible without cheats I think KZfaq unsubbed me but I've fixed that

That large grey building just appears to be an asset from Sim City on the SNES.

That "Middle Finger" Luigi sprite appears more to be Luigi putting his hand on his bicep. Of course, in Europe, I know this is a very similar gesture saying "Screw you," either way, but in Japan, it's basically someone saying that they're strong enough to handle the task at hand.

Companies should just release source code after 20 years. It is so historically important! Id Software has led the way in this regard and others should follow.

That Ocarina of Time leak is truly amazing. After so long wondering, it turns out that the medallions were originally seals, perhaps as a way to seal the Tri-Force again before fighting Ganondorf.

During the early days of the n64, my brother let me borrow his copy of ocarina of time. The first save file had the triforce icon on the save data description near the medallions. He deleted it in front of me and said I could use that slot for my game. To this day, I have no idea how he did it and he even denies anything about it. I assume he used a cheat, but I have never even read about a cheat that does that. It was an early copy that still had the arabic prayer in it.

You mentioned that Super Donkey thing reminding you of Rayman. Well, I'd actually like to point out how it's also reminiscent of Yoshi's Island's animations. Where limbs are often separate from bodies (mostly feet). Look at the way the Shy Guy is animated, for instance. Which is just a body and two separate feet.

One of the few times "top 10" is extremely useful to find out the best of what was mostly seemingly mundane stuff. That being said, I knew the leaks were intense and even just finding out about, say, the uncompressed "Do a barrel roll!" and other Star Fox 64 voice clips or most of all "L is real" were satisfying enough for me, but *wow,* no wonder it was so hard to find most of them and how bewildering some of these were, good grief!

I'm not really too surprised about that building image with all the Mario characters. The Starfox one looks almost like an unused damage screen, or it could've been used for a secret level like the one in the first game. Kinda curious about the blood on Link's sword for that Zelda 2 game though, almost looks like a graphical error to me, but I'd have to look at it more. I still love seeing these unused elements of games, I like seeing the evolution of a game through old builds and unused features.

Super Donkey has clearly the same Style in many Objects and Fonts as Yoishis Island has.

My favorite discovery was the uncompressed Star Fox 64 audio. It actually made me cry hearing lines I've heard since I was born and quoted for years and years in pristine quality.
