It's not like there was a WCW around that probably would have picked him up out of spite for half a mil a year or something..... Personally I don't think WWE/E would have been much different without him throughout the years and don't understand why he gets so much respect (bear in mind that's my opinion, I've said it in the past and people want to try and explain why he's so great with information I'm perfectly aware of)

@@samuelwoods164 He mentioned in one of his books visiting Dixie Carter about going to TNA but he wanted to be involved in talent relations and could even see where they were hemorrhaging money. I want to say this was 2010ish but please don't hold me to it. Dixie didn't want to give him that so he respectfully declined.

I've often wondered if it was because he wasn't a stooge or yes man for Vince off camera, like Bruce Prichard or John Laurinaitis, and actually wanted to use his wealth of knowledge to better the company and those around him, and maybe was just too competent and Vince felt like he had to knock him down every so often.

Some of these go from "pranks" to "abuse and humiliation" in the blink of an eye. I know there's a lot about the "golden era" of WWE that gets romanticized, but the unprofessionalism and disregard for people's well-being -- especially female talent -- should never, ever be celebrated.

Started watching WWE during the time Eric Bischoff was Raw GM, and all throughout the 2000s I couldn't help but wonder why Jim Ross was there... All the segments with him broke my little heart cos I couldn't understand why they'd do such embarrassing things to a grown man 😔

Jr is a champ for sticking with it for so long and I remember seeing this as a kid and being like surely he is in on it like a movie or whatever. Vince is a legit psycho. Its very telling how he chooses to belittle certain people but not others. Like a bully he picks on those smaller than him. Don't see him pukking that shit with taker or jbl.

Wrestling Flashback, nice list and all, but you need to factcheck. The match between Ahmed Johnson and Goldust, didn't happen at King of the Ring 1998, it was in 1996.

Show told a story about HHH putting a chocolate protein bar in his trunks during a match vs Jericho. After wrestling several minutes, Jericho pulls his trunks down and the melted bar got all over his hands. And he freaked out. He mentioned a lumberjack match. They had one October 2004 on Raw. But Show was a Smackdown Superstar then. So either HHH told Show the story to talk about on the documentary, or Show must have seen them work another lumberjack match in 09 during their Jerishow tag team vs HHH.

To blatantly do so much to JR, arguably one of the best announcers and 1/2 of THE best announcing crew ever, (with the King) is disgusting. He went out of the way to humiliate JR than to make a comical scene. It's straight up bullying and infuriating to see to this day. It's more like the varsity QB bullying the kicker when the team can't score a touchdown but the kicker has scored all your points. I'm glad JR left for AEW and being a part of their rising success over WWE. Wish JR would have socked Vince one good time.

I’m sure when other wrestler experienced what he experienced and said it “made my wife cry” he probably told them to get over it, it’s a part of the entertainment business and to smarten up their spouse etc. How is this different than when he buried Bart Gunn for knocking out his boy by setting up that Butterbean fight
