The first one was good, the other two are shite and marked how Raimi wanted to move in a more mainstream direction away from real horror towards comedy that paved the way for him to end up doing the Spiderman films. The first one had very little humour with a couple of scenes viewed as extreme at the time, I think he had promise as a great horror director but ended up being tempted away by Hollywood, after all he is far richer than Argento, Fulci etc as a result so I understand his reasoning .

There actually a great film called Brain Dead with both Bills (Pullman and Paxton, the only thing they were in together), Bud Cort(!?) and George Kennedy with the last script from the awesome Charles Beaumont. It makes less sense than Inception yet improbably works, basically meaning you can watch this over and over and almost always go, "Oh! NOW I know what's going on. Uhm, wait. Oh NOW I know...wait. I remember tracking Blue Sunshine down back in the 90s (on VHS!) It took me bloody ages to get hold of that, it's a great little story (at least what I remember of it anyhow) The idea of laced LSD (or any recreational drugs) having its ill effects kick in years after taking the drug is pretty disturbing (especially if, like me, you have taken more than your fair share of illegal shady drugs in the past!) I now desperately want to watch it again!!!

Man, "Blue Sunshine", that M-ther-F-cker of a movie. Saw it when I was 14 y/o at a Drive-in my parents took me to (it was second bill, and I don't even remember the top bill). This movie was so impressive to me because it was both super weird, but also quite frightening. The outright drug references went over my head, and I took it as a Cronenberg-type body mutation/adaptation mystery. Needless to say, it was so raw that it felt almost like a documentary. Ash gave it a passing mention, but In the Mouth of Madness is definitely a movie that should feature in an "Another 10..." list. Others to consider include -: Cut The Hills Run Red The Collector / The Collection Laid to Rest 1 & 2 Botched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon See No Evil No One Lives

I was kind of expecting something more like Nosferatu, but if we're going for gore then how about Demons 1985 film. Warning that film disturbs me even now.

Interesting list. I haven't heard of a bunch of these. Also Ash is really cute.
