My last flight was when I was around six, one to Utah. I should have written down the airline name and flight number, but it was a nice flight. Being so high above the ground was incredible.

We had a cowboy pilot in the early 90s who tried to land us at the Dallas airport while a TORNADO was hitting the airport. Worse, there had just been incidents with wind shear at Dallas, which was just being recognized as hazardous...we bounced so hard I thought we'd be on the moon, and we were supposed to sit there until, "It's safe"...I didn't fly again for years.

@christineparis5607
@christineparis5607 Жыл бұрын
@@bridgetcatron It's still the safest form of travel, compared to cars, especially (6,000 people a WEEK die in auto accidents, mostly alcohol related), but if you're on a plane, your life is completely in the hands of strangers, people you won't even see (like the captain) who may or may not be overtired, high, drunk angry or just incompetent. There usually isn't a problem, but if there is, you have no control over the outcome, which is what causes the highest anxiety. If you have to fly, get out on an "off" day, no holidays, no busy hours and make sure you get the seat next to the emergency exit, if the plane is landing and it's on fire, you REALLY want to be the first one out the door, and to be a hero if you can, by helping people out and preventing congestion: shoving, hysteria, etc. Take charge, be calm, reassure everyone around you. Panic is an automatic death sentence, so don't, just concentrate on surviving and helping others to survive...I've been on planes with severe turbulence over the ocean, and the instant hysteria, screaming and crying was unreal. If I have to fly, I ask my doctor for lorazepam in a low dose. It relaxes you, but isn't going to confuse or knock you out. That ocean trip make me bless tranquilizers because I would have been completely terrified, if you need it, just tell the doctor you're a panicky, or first time flyer...no worries!

My husband has worked for multiple airlines at the same airport for years and everyone always forgets about the most important people: the ground crew. They have the most dangerous job being outside in ALL weather, including pouring rain (they do make them go back to the 'pit crew' type area outside to get cover from lightening but they cannot leave the ramp area completely if a plane is on the ground. They walk the plane in to the terminal(it takes 3 people to do this) and have to chock the wheels, all while in radio contact with the pilots and tower. These people also drive the jet bridge out to planes door which is the ramp to get in and out of the plane. They unload luggage, take it inside to the belt and then reload carts with new luggage to take back outside and 'Tetris' stack on the plane, in an area that is no taller than 5 feet (so stack your luggage on their knees). Plane is refueled by a specialty crew in the same time, but ground crew must empty the lavatory and also check the plane over for damage or missing rivets (these things are held together by bubblegum and duct tape). And all of this has to be done in less than a half hour. Then they must hook the plane to a 'push back' vehicle and back plane out of the terminal, turn it around so it can get to the runway. Planes don't have a reverse. The plane only gets cleaned at night if it is parked at the airport overnight for a morning flight out. Now these people who could potentially get sucked into an engine or run over by a tire or struck by lightning or even get a broken ankle from the push back's tow bar get paid the Least of all the employees at an airline and usually your people in the airport (not pilots and air crew) also are hired through hiring companies and get low pay and no benefits. The only way the ground crew outside even make a decent wage is to be cross trained to also work the counter inside. All so corporate can have more money in their pockets. So be outside all sweaty and exhausted then have to run inside, change clothes, and work with computers and customers but run back out to work on the ramp more. Still not making more than a few dollars over minimum wage! Absolute BS and I will never get on a plane again.

Omg Bubblegum and Duct tape?!? New fear unlocked, I don't think I'll ever be able to get on a plane again. Also how awful they're treated as employees is total BS, companies just don't give a f@$k about us small people and they get away with foul treatment so much it's basically the norm makes me angry.

I've learned a) if a crew member fails to realise a lifejacket's missing during cabin cleaning, it could have fatal consequences, and b) airlines don't think it's important to pay crew members to clean the cabin. I'm seeing a problem with this.

We do have spare life jackets on board and we are required to check them before we board anyone. My airline does pay us past deplaning for us to clean. It varies based on the airline. Mine, however, does have these steps.

I currently work for the airlines, I have for 18 years. I can’t comment on some of these as they are not within my work group (or I am not able to) but the part about people changing their babies on the trays (and seats and then leaving the diapers in the seat back pockets) is true. PLEASE stop doing that. We also cannot take diapers in the main trash, they have to go in the bath rooms. We do have changing tables. People get so rude with me when I have to tell them not to do that. I am a parent as well and I have never done that with my son, even when he was a baby. It’s just gross. Especially with the recycled air on board.

When I was a child in Alaska , I flew in Alaska Airlines . The title isn't correct because they're really based in Washington . But anyway , when I flew on their airlines : up to ( I think ) 3 bags were allowed in the cargo FOR FREE , there were FREE MEALS , and even a free deck of playing cards . Now you have to PAY FOR EVERYTHING .

I feel like 90% of this is common sense, and this video only serves to further alarm and scare people who ALREADY don't like flying. But the fact is, even if it's uncomfortable for a few hours, flying is still the safest way to travel. If you were trying to get from New York to California, assuming time wasn't an issue, and you opted to drive instead of fly there then you're FAR more likely to get in to an accident on the road, and not just fender benders. I'm talking fatal or at least serious accidents that put you in the hospital. Flying is easy. Just bring a small carry on with your own snacks. Only drink bottled beverages from the plane. Keep some hand sanitizer or "Wet Ones" on you. Most importantly, make sure you have something to occupy your time if you aren't going to sleep. Bring video games, load movies on your phone, SOMETHING. Sure, there's usually in-flight offerings for music and movies, but they'll typically charge you for SOMETHING in economy class.

It’s because rich people have to hoard all the profits for themselves to the point where the company struggles to function and workers are forced to work without pay. Most problems in our society can be traced directly to rich people and their pathological need to always take more and more from everyone else.

Here's another dark truth about the Airlines: The Airline Pilot "Shortage" is a complete total myth. In fact, many labor "shortages" out there are artificially created. But the airlines especially have no one else to blame but themselves. That's what you get for furloughing veteran workers, cutting costs and corners left and right, as well as requiring absolutely obscene working hours, all in the name of pleasing shareholders. And they have the nerve to wonder why and how airline travel nowadays is just so precarious and prone to delays, frustrations, and other woes.

Hi, I'm a flight attendant and I confirm everything that's in this video. Please stop being mad at flight attendants for things that are out of their control, like the weather or the aircraft's interior design. Don't change babies on tray tables, on seats or on top of their older siblings, especially during the safety demonstration. Don't throw garbage in toilet compartments that are not labeled as bins, as they might contain clean supplies, and don't stuff the toilet paper recess with wet paper. Remember that you're in a public place that you share with complete strangers, so be respectful of the people around you and the ones that come after you in the next flight, so don't leave a mess someone else has to clean (while not being paid). Flight attendants are always more than happy to help you and to make sure you arrive safe and sound to your destination.

I'm curious. Why are you using flight attendants as a source for maintenance related information? As long as they don't moonlight as a maintenance planer or A&P they don't know jack shit about the maintenance schedule of the potable water system. Many companies have maintenance intervals for chlorination/cleaning of the water systems and many perform regular water sampling/testing of the water coming out of the system. As far as I know, most aircraft manufacturer include chlorination of the potable water system in their maintenance programme.

sorry but the dark dim of the lights has nothing to do with allowing your eyes to adjust to the night. what happens when an airplane enters a dangerous process (like landing, taking off, preparing to ditch, etc), they have to make sure the passengers' safety is their number one priority, so dimming the lights in that situation is solely to ensure that electronic EXIT signs are clearly visible (being bright red in a dark room will allow them to be spotted quickly). Yes your eyes do adjust to the darkness, but they switch back on the cabin lights right after touch-down, so you eyes adjusting to the dark is clearly not the main concern.

-> 🤔 Maybe We're The 1st Spiritist* Pop-Metal Or Rock Band In This World... -> But Don't Pay Much Attention To Our Neanderthal English, Ha Ha Ha ❤ *NOTE: -> Spiritist is who professes Spiritism, the Gospel continuation It has began with the books by Allan Kardec and continued in the books by Francisco C. Xavier, the greatest and more important medium/prophet of spirits of the last centuries...

You think you are the first of anything in the world? Sorry to break your bubble kid but if you think of anything it's probably that there's hundred or millions of people doing the same thing you think

@@Saddonghussein Few people in this world know what Spiritism really is. Even the majority who know the doctrine and claim to be Spiritist do not know. Because few read the books. So, maybe we are the first Spiritist Heavy Metal and Rock band of this planet. If you think we are not then concretely say what band is before us. Of course -> You have to know what Spiritism is. We doubt you know.
