Hi Paul. I'm a guitarist that, for over 10 years, tried his best to ignore music theory altogether (excluding the pentatonic scale) until a legendary guitar teacher decided to show me some tasty licks I knew and explain what made them special in the context of music theory. This video brought me back to those lessons because he did that exact Eagles riff to demonstrate a certain 'Pacific island voicing' and then played it over the Hotel California backing track. I wish I'd realized earlier, but this sort of theory is something every guitarist needs to know. Thank you for making this video.

SO glad you featured julian lage. In my opinion the best guitarist out right now. Nocturne is a great song. Ryland is also great. I saw julian at a small bar in LA in February and he absolutely demolished it. Fantastic.

You should've used the Les Paul for 'While my guitar gently weeps", cause Clapton played it on Lucy, the most legendary red Les Paul! You also committed a sin by not playing BB King on the neck pick-up.. Anyhow great video and keep it up!
