I just watched the new movie and it made me want to learn more about Louisa, thanks for this! I grew up reading little women!

I am such a big fan of Louisa since i was a kid . I love how passionate she was in her work ,and life , and she was not afraid to be herself . A few years ago I visited Orchard house ,and sleepy hollow graveyard ,not that sleepy hollow lol and it was an a very emotional experience for me because i had a difficult time in school and i read a biography on her in 5th grade ,and i saw my self as her . I am outspoken I was told i would never go anywhere in life by teachers in 5th grade ,and I never gave up ! all thanks to Louisa . every time I still feel like i am nothing I think about Louisa ,and how far I have come in life .

I watched Mrs. Cheever's talk on Ms. Alcott. I really like your touch of highlighting interesting facts about her life and following up with your own insight. I'm currently reading Little Women for the first time in my life. There are so many gems! The Christianly themes are reminding me to be grateful, practice self-denial, repentance, diligence, etc.

I just watched the new version of the movie. And I've watched the old version. Actually to old versions a little women all three are very well representing the book. But I do. Love the fact that you took the time out. And explain more about the author. It was very enjoyable.

Okay, I just finished this video and I'm thrilled! I'm waiting for my copy of Little Women which should be arriving soon so I haven't read that masterpiece yet! (I know it is so bad!) I love to be informed about the authors I read and after falling in love with the latest version of Little Women by Greta Gerwig I really wanted to learn more about Louisa (after watching the movie at least 4 times) so I started doing some research on her, her family, her history and so far your video is the one that has interested and touched me the most! I know I'm going to love this reading and thanks to you I'lll see the person behind the persona

I'm overdue with my comment on my mother's obituary and have been reflecting that she'd read Little Women to me at bedtime, and how Ms. Alcott and her family actually was my introduction to ethics, morality and religion. Thank you Bex.

I enjoyed this. A touch of book club talk. One quote of Hers I like is when they were living in the commune her mother told her the commune was not uplifting for women. They exist for the men to sit and commune while the women clean, serve, chop the wood and stay out of the way. I love her conversations with her mother. As a 73 year old former hippie did my communes and lived in TeePee and yurts I testify nothing has changed.

I hope that you were as accurate as you could be, not just for people like me who may be ushered in by your story without prior knowledge, but bc you care about knowing truth and spreading it as so. I am intrigued by her father and am glad to learn more about him. I believe he had a conflicting desire to understand scripture and he acted that out in ways that he could actually personally observe and experience. I have to do my research, but from what you’ve mentioned about him being intrigued by children, it makes me think of the scripture Matthew 18:1-5. Also, from you mentioned about him reprimanding his children with the apple, it leads me to think that he’s struggling or trying to play out in his life what Genesis meant. … These are all my thoughts and I am expressing them bc they may lead others in they way your thoughts have lead me. Call me crazy but… crazy is still knowledge 🤣

Interesting but you forgot to mention that Louisa really didn’t want to Jo to get married at all, not to marry someone poor. She wrote to her friends anguished letters about how being unmarried wasn’t a bad thing and how frustrated she was having to marry Jo off just because her publishers and fans wished it.

Wonderful detail on her life. I would like to know more about the transcendental view and what it is about. It sounds strange.

I'm not sure what to think about her father either because he did all of that for his strong beliefs and morality, he meant well but the results affected his family when that should have been his priority. I like to read biographies about authors too so I like this kind of videos

This was suggested to me as I was searching for info about Abigail May Alcott and her relationship with Louisa. Do you think Louisa resented May because she got to go study art in Europe? She made Amy so annoying and artistically inadequate, whereas May was actually a success at art. Also, I would love to hear how Louisa raised Lulu her niece. Did she follow Bronson's weird child rearing methods?
