Did you know that when you have the diplomacy skill it lowers the level requirement for visiting a library of enlightenment?

@@niewpisze7493 Each stage of diplomacy decrease the required level by 2. So with basic diplomacy you can visit at level 8, with advanced at level 6, and with expert level your hero only needs to reach level 4

Well to be honest the conflux that we got instead was kind of a rushed job, not to mention that it was so "balanced" that its banned in competitive tournaments.

Homm 3 for many people was the first introduction they had to the world of might and magic. Science fiction has always been a part of the might and magic games, with all the artefacts being super advanced alien gadgets and not magical and the demons invading from hell are aliens invading from another dimension. The problem is that the base homm3 was purely fantasy and many people got angry for the inclusion of science fiction.

Didn't knew about dispel facts. Too much hate on Forge, its exclusion from the game was my biggest disappointment back in the day. By the way, that videos looked like it's from 2006-2008 haha (talking about the windows movie maker-like transitions and color choice)

Haha i always choosed tower. Because of the level 1 unit can be upgraded a range unit and tge level 7 unit ie titan is a range unit. Genue cast spells, golem good defence, naga wueen great, magi range unit and gargoyles just for defence for the range unit. Guess im gonna go with castle after this. Seems better.

Forge faction will be added in later version of HotA expansion.

in original heroes 3 tower was the only faction in game to cause dmg at wall by mines. other faction did nothing or only reduced attack and defend. but not sure. if i am correct there was no stop of land units in front of walls and no dmg by font river/lava/... tower was very powerful town no match for others. they had on every hero no problem 90 - 120 gremlins. for nowadays standards unthinkable.

Actually blind works on black dragons sometimes for example if you play the dragons blood in the complete version you will find that the enemy pc will be able to cast blind

Heavenly Forge would have been awesome but we got shitty Conflux instead. Science fiction has always been a part of Might and Magic universe, strange that the "fans" weren't aware of that at the time.

Sure. Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor, has blasters (the so called ancient technology), aliens, mechs and a space ship at its climax. Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer's antagonist is a cyborg of sorts. Heroes of Might and Magic III timeline takes place after Might and Magic VII, where the canonical ending was supposed to be the triumph of necromancers, with the forces of evil getting hold of ancient technology and mass-producing blasters. That's how the Heavenly Forge comes into existence. Ignorant fans didn't like the concept, some even threatened game designers. As a result, Heavenly Forge was scrapped and NWC came up with a half-assed Conflux. Shame, really.

Roger Gurman Yeah, but both of those games were made after Homm3, which means that part of the Lore was not been known at the time. Personally i would prefer homm3 like we have, but i wouldnt mind that town instead of conflux

Might and Magic 7 was made before HoMM 3: Armageddon's Blade. Armageddon's Blade was made with MM7 in mind, as continuation of the story. I just looked it up and it turns out that the science fiction element has been also present in earlier Might and Magic installments, as early as part 2. So there.

Roger Gurman I kinda like both concepts. Conflux was indeed half-assed, though it only had to do with short deadline, lack of inspiration and overall reluctance among the 3DO team. Otherwise, I do dig the idea of Elemental town. I thought that, for example, Psychic/ Magic Elementals were a rather cool, original addition. Also, the town was an excuse for Sprites and Phoenixes to make their rightful comeback. It's sad for the Forge, but I guess all games have their share of less-than-fortunate contents during their development (e.g. in Mortal Kombat Trilogy, you also had combatants such as Tremor or Aqua who didn't make it into the final roster). Oh well, maybe in some future Heroes...

Anyone recommend their favorite maps? I enjoy big maps on impossible with super strong heroes and massive armies. South of Hell, Running with the Devil, and Song of Valorin are all fun.

I would almost rather have had cyborgs than conflux as a new town in the game. otherwise simply a perfect game, conflux is the one thing in it that felt "we must add something new but we ran out of ideas" type of forced thing. even the town design both inside and outside is fraction of the quality of other towns.

Did you know: your dead unit can't be resurrected, if another unit is standing on top of their hex. I forgot this when playing online, & my sneaky opponent almost got the best of me for doing that.

yes they working on it, unfortunetly, should be soon with the HoTA patch. Im not happy with it because I dont like an idea to mix present times and some ancient times where are the warriors and the mitology creatures

If you kill a unit with just the first shot, it won't fire the second.

He just answered above. If the elves or marksman killed the enemy unit with one shot, it would not fire the second shot.

for every player here who are playing heroes for years. go and do yourself favor and play tutorial to the game. you will be surprised how many things you can fetch there or at least refresh.

Really sir, you mentionded the technology town and HoTA but not the fact that beta version of HOMM3 featured 2 class animations for both gender? Like female overlord was also a half naked person with a metal bra instead of a female warlock img.gfx.no/1292/1292870/heroes3_5.jpg
