Could you do a series next year where you show us some seeds you plant and then make an arrangement with those things in the summer or fall? I'd love to make decorations or arrangements like you do but I always feel like I don't know what to plant to make an arrangement with! It would be so fun to follow along with you as you grow and harvest and make an arrangement!

I feel like a slug everytime I watch your videos!! Lol! Your property is beautiful. Now i want to go buy another house with a big backyard so I can plant flowers and vegtables. My first house when my husband was alive we had almost had an acre of land and a huge vegtable garden which was his pride & joy. We would can at least 75 quarts of tomatoes every year plus various types of veggies that we either froze or canned. Now I plant one or two tomato plants in pots as i live in a townhome with a small patio. Your videos give me great joy when I see them. Take care of yourself and don't overdue.

I just rewatched this in July 2023 snd SO appreciate that it popped up in my feed today. After a big move, I’ve been discouraged that I don’t have my normal flower garden going. You’ve given me the encouragement to get those seeds in the ground! I watched gardening vlogs from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and Virginia and was tickled to see the women quoting you. Your information is top notch but your presentation with such a sunny disposition is a real blessing to millions! Thank you for caring and sharing.

I sowed calendula seeds in October in a pot near my front door. They obligingly bloomed all winter, providing a cheerful pop of color when everything else was brown. I am in North Texas. We do get frosts. It was fine even when we had a few days in a row in the low 20s. Highly recommend!

So, I did it. I bought the boxed seeds from Dollar General. Zinnia, Alyssum, Wild Flower (shade area) and Impatients. The Zinnias are taking off! I bought them to fill in my bulb flower bed and learning that not all bulbs sold in spring/summer are summer blooming. Needless to say, the Anemone & Echinacea didn't work out! :) I'm so excited to see the Zinnias bloom though. I'm a beginner and I'm totally inspired by your videos! Thanks for sharing all you do. Such a wide variety of gardening styles, plants and tips and tricks. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!

Another Hi from Minnesota. We're zone 4b and first frost can come pretty early. This was a fun video to watch. It got me pondering about what I would plant if our growing season was longer. Right now it's been in the 90's with very high humidity - which makes it difficult to spend a lot of time in the garden. :0( I agree with Juliene. Take lots of breaks, Laura.

Juliene Gustafson I work for a hospital, I relate to you feeling stress about going to work. I know people want school to restart, but I have empathy for the teachers. My grandsons will probably stay with homeschooling, one is immune compromised and it’s just too risky...we’re awaiting covid19 test results right now because he was exposed inside the hospital! I also turn to gardening, i gardened all day when he was rushed into surgery 2 weeks ago, and about to go out now....stay safe.

Julienne, I'm also in MN and have family in the school system so I hope Governor Walz, a former teacher, will keep schooling at home. My niece teaches kids with special needs so I know that can pose a challenge for them. My 67-year-old sister drives school bus and I worry about her increased exposure. I'm headed outside to plant my latest treasures as this is our first break in the heat (temporarily). Lowe's clearance plants for $1! They just need some love...And Bio-tone.

With all the cutting flowers your growing you should open a cut flower stand for your neighbors once a year! You could make the cut flower arrangement and make a little extra money while making others with less of a green thumb happy! I started a small cut flower garden this year and planted over 700 cosmo seeds and zinnia seed and some sunflowers. I was not neat about it and threw it all in and covered and watered. it is in full cosmo blooms all different colors and zinnias are right behind them getting buds and sunflowers are making progress. So excited.

Started marigolds and borage inside so those were the only flowers this year to go in on time. Lost the marigolds (weird weather) and the borage is amazing. Daughter wanted to plant nastursiums so we planted a few late. Accidently left the seed packet outside and they got rained on. Ended up planting the soaked seed and they are doing better than the first ones (not soaked). On a waiting list for calendula ... need to make your salve!

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for your amazing channel, all your knowledge, and your infectious positive attitude! I've enjoyed casual flower gardening for years and you have taught me so much more this season, especially improved plant identification skills and a stronger botanical vocabulary -- you're the best! It has been such a joy this season getting more serious about gardening and I have you to thank for so many great pieces of advice and countless points of inspiration. My garden and I so appreciate it! :) I'm in zone 4B. I have some Heavenly Blue Morning Glories that I'm growing for the first time this season, from greenhouse plants. The vines are all looking amazing and have taken over the trellis. However, I only had a couple of blooms about a month ago and then nothing more since. I've now read that fertilizing them will stop the Morning Glories from blooming. I did fertilize mine earlier in the season but have since stopped adding it. Is there any chance of getting them to flower again? Thanks for any advice you may have and CONGRATS on your new baby! :)

So glad to have this information and encouragement that it’s not too late to plant more seeds. I have some bare spots I’d love to fill and now I know it won’t be a waste of time or money. We still have plenty of warm weather left in my southern climate!

I grew the tithonias for the first time last year and they are a gorgeous flower! I had a bunch of volunteers come up this year and I love that.

Great video and tips! Love the format, the way you explained everything, showing all the details and your commentary. Also, the music was excellent. I watch your videos with my dogs and we had a little dance party during the planting- music parts. They got a kick out of it. It was a fun boost to my morning! Been loving your content for about 2yrs now. I never understood planting for beauty just for purpose, until I started watching you. You've really expanded my mind! Thank you! Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope all goes as smoothly as possible! 😁💞🥳

Sounds like something beautiful to look forward to come fall. I wish you great success with all your new flowers 💐. I think I have learned that it’s okay to plant flowers throughout the spring and summer as the season changes. Typically I buy a couple of flats worth of plants, go crazy and done in one day. I believe your method is therapeutic and allows a person to enjoy the process all season long. Blessings to you and your family

You are such a blessing and I have learned so much from you I thought I could never have anything because I'm on such a strict budget but I will be saving for soil and seeds for next spring and have a beautiful patio full of flowers my flowers will have to be in pots and stuff because I can't get down on the ground due to bad knees also wanted to say you'll be in my prayers every single day from now thank you for sharing your gift God bless Vicky Texas ❣️ PS I noticed you didn't use any kind of biotone or plant food when will you do?

Tithonia is my favorite annual!!! Brings so many pollinators to the garden! Last year they were covered in gorgeous swallowtails as soon as blooming started.

Every year, I grow heavenly blue morning glories along with moon flower. As the blue flowers fade in the afternoon the white beauties take over and give a show into the night with its 6 inch blooms. It's all great but if I don't get these going by June 1, the frost will kill them before I get a single bloom. Im in zone 6a.

My moon flowers are coming along kinda slow this year, the morning glories are so robust, they're shading the moon vine. I adore them both. O grew a mixed bunch & the colors turned out really nice & just perfect in the areas where I put them. First year in our house, I'm having a blast!
