Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Ok, our timing wasn't great - what with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global economic turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus to travelling around Australia and sharing everything our beautiful country has to offer!
We invite you to follow us as we make regular trips and share our experiences with you.

Thanks Jack 🤗 August temperatures are usually around 23 or 24c during the day, sometimes warmer. The lagoon pool at Southbank is a great place for families….your children will love it!

We lived in Brisbane during Expo88. Amazing to see what they've done with the site. The crows crack me up. I really miss them. Thanks for this amazing video 😌 you're the best 🙂

@@BethandPaultravel My first experience with a crow was when I was crossing the road to go up Jacob's ladder to go to work and I walked into the pedestrian pole. Some cheeky bugger started laughing and I cracked up laughing when I saw it was a crow. We both miss the bird life and all the little creatures that you see everywhere you go. We don't get that over here.🦎🐨🥰

Yes they do make me laugh at times. It's the cockatoos that have the biggest personalities though. They are the comedians of the bird world.

Malaysia is one of our very favourite places...we went to Penang three years ago and stayed in KL for two weeks and loved discovering the wonderful parks, markets and the most delicious food....everyone was so nice to us and made us feel very welcome. You’re son will have a wonderful experience studying here 😊

Hi Beth and Paul, thanks for doing this video. Can you share how cold is Brisbane during spring September? I was wondering what proper clothes to pack during my trip. Will be travelling this year to Brisbane. Keep doing awesome videos!

Hi Natalie 🤗 Thanks for your message. September is usually a beautiful month in Brisbane ☀️ The days are sunny and around 25c and the overnight temperature drops down to around 14c or 15c. It doesn’t feel humid then either. So summer clothes are fine during the day and maybe a jacket in the evening 😊 You must be very excited about your trip…safe travels ❤️

That’s great….we hope you have an amazing trip. Make sure you ride the city cat ferry at night time from North Quay or Southbank to Howard Smith Wharves or New Farm….you’ll be rewarded with spectacular view of the city from the water!!!

Thanks Wang 😊 We ❤️ Tassie! You’ll have a fantastic time driving up to Brisbane…if you take your time and drive up the Pacific Highway, you will see lots of spectacular beaches and great fishing spots along the way! There are also plenty of seaside towns selling local fresh seafood 🦞 🐟🦐🦀🐠🍤🐙

Anyone tried geocaching? You find containers with cool stuff inside of them, hidden all around the world. Lived in brisbane for 15 years. Good job on revealing some things that I never knew about despite being in Brisbane for so long. Anything you can do for free not mentioned here in the southern suburbs?

Hi @Dan Man 🤗 we just Googled ‘geocaching’...so we know what it is now! Thanks for watching our video and taking time to comment 😊 Ideas for free things to do on the Southside (not including ones mentioned in our video) could include Mt Gravatt Lookout, Rocklea Markets, Daisy Hill Koala Centre or maybe check out the Brisbane City Council or Logan City Council to find out about free activities they are offering. At the moment, BCC is offering free active classes like swimming lessons, Tai Chi, Yoga etc at various places around Brisbane...more info about their ‘Active & Healthy events’ can be found on the Brisbane City Council website. Logan has a similar program called ‘Live Well Logan’. We have both utilised the water aerobics at our local pool on Saturday mornings and love it 🤗
