In an order that combines impact, influence and popularity: 10. Armani stronger with you (kicked off the new gourmand caramel sweet fragrance trend since 2017) 9. Creed Aventus (possibly spawned more clones than any fragrance in history) 8. A&F Fierce (kicked off a fairly big trend and has had it's fair share of clones) 7. CK One (first mainstream unisex fragrance way back in 1994) 6. Armani Acqua di Gio (as much as this is not my cup of tea it did shake up the space in a very big way at least in sales, but wasn't copied as much as others on this list) 5. Paco Rabanne 1 Million (paved the way for super sweet male fragrances since 2008) 4. Aramis (paved the way for 70s and 80s spicy animalic powerhouses a trend that lasted more than 20 years) 3. JPG Le Male (It's list of successful flankers is a trend in and of itself, one of the most popular of all time) 2. Chanel Bleu de Chanel (kicked off the huge blue fragrance trend still going strong 13 years later) 1. Davidoff Cool Water (one of the most popular of all time still going strong 36 years later, timeless masterpiece that made it possible for men's fragrances to be anything other than ultra masculine or a barbershop cologne)

I was in highschool when CK One came out and you can't stress enough about how it was EVERYWHERE you'd walk into anywhere on a weekend and it just smelled like a mixture of CK One, Coolwater and Black and Milds. I miss those days😢😢. It's still to this day an unmistakable scent that brings back immediate nostalgia.

Don't forget the damns EXCLAMATION and EXCLAMATION BLUSH in the early 90's. It was popular with teen girls and ive always hated those perfumes

Crazy that the original A men didn’t make the cut! In a decade of clean smelling fragrances, this stuff laid the foundation for men’s gourmand. And sure, it was surpassed by nearly all of the flankers that came after it, but A men dared to do something completely different at the time of its release.

It was the first gourmand for crying out load! It changed the game. Gourmand is now one of the biggest sellers. I got a bottle of A man the year it came out and it was my only frag I owned up until about a year ago when I started really getting into fragrances.

I’m 47 and my all time top favorites are JOOP Pour Home, Tuscany by Aramis, DK Fuel by Donna Karan, YSL Rive Gauche all very different from each other but all EPIC 🔥🔥🔥

One of the biggest game changers was Cool Water. Before this came out it was not common that teenagers wore scents beside normal body sprays. The hype with CW was so big, it started and changed something.....it also was my first EDT

i rock the OG JOOP in winter and tghe OG le male in spring, bleu de chanel edt is great in the heat too (i would agree with 80% of this list, the spice bomb extreme i'm with ashe in going with the OG, aventus is kind've odd as different batches have different "qualities")

L'Eau d'Issey Intense came before Bleu de Chanel and Aventus and it has bits and pieces of both, yet it goes way under the radar... Shame - because it is a great one!

I was now about to mention L'Eau bleue d'issey as a predecessor to Bleu de Chanel. I remember buying it for my dad as a birthday or father's Day gift when it just came out. It was a solid fragrance that is often overlooked when talking about blue fragrances.

Joop Homme might be most overhated fragrance ever. Its just that self-called fragrance conoisseurs wanna smell like some wood from the rain forest to feel special. In terms of compliments Ive never gotten more in my life than with Joop Homme. Women love it. Cant change facts.

I have many great fragrances but my wife’s favourite is still Joop Homme Original. It’s actually got quite a bit of complexity. Not my favourite anymore but back when I was a young lad it was the first sweet Mens fragrance to my knowledge, One million seems to get the credit but Joop Homme started all the sweet Mens fragrances.

I have to say when Armani launched CODE in the early 2000, there was nothing like it on the market. The spicy smoky powdery seductive scent was pretty unique at that time.

If you went to any bar or club from mid 90s to mid 2000s you would smell Le Male. It made other people including myself to search for other frags because we didn't all want to smell the same.

When I was younger like 4-5 I Remember the Old Spice , Then Jovan Musk Jovan White Musk , Brut Those 3 in theAir was like Candy Musk , the late 70’80’s was kinda Big Hair Can I say Gaeyish 👀😬 Compared to Before then in early 70’s back to the 40’s MAN was MAANN !! OLD Spice ,Palmaid, women was Chanel No 5 , They like to be Bold and Slap yo Mama in her Face String back then 🤣🤣

All of those aren't as groundbreaking as two people overlook. Very old very cheap but until Old Spice and Brut in the 1930s that exploded for the average man in the USA. The only people that wore fragrance before that were mostly the rich and women.
