I couldn't agree more with your magnet point - it's my biggest 'cruise hack' every single time someone asks me. I'm always surprised how much I depend on papers while I'm on a cruise, and it's MUCH better to get it on the wall than storing hidden in a drawer!

Here’s an idea I’m going to try on my next cruise. Laundry service. It’s not going to break the bank to send clothes out daily for cleaning. On Princess, I get clean clothes back in two days, so all I need is four days worth of clothes for an 11-day cruise. I can already imagine the cons of why it’s not right for you; but if it’s good enough for the captain and crew, I’m game❤ Angie #loveboatcruising

I did the laundry service towards the end of my last sailing. Not only was it an absorbable expense but also reduced the stress of having to recombobulate once I got home, since I could unpack directly back into my dresser/closet. It used to seem like such a luxury, but it's the same price as two mixed drinks plus tip which I found to be pretty reasonable, all considered.

The only downside to using the retractable clothesline in the shower is that with the shower door closed and the bathroom door also closed there is no air flow in that area, so nothing really dries. This is where the in-cabin blow dryer comes in handy. I also found a 4x6" washboard on Temu that fits in a quart sandwich bag nicely along with my sink suds & Tide pen. It's an archaic device but it sure does work.

I use an over the door shoe bag and hang it on one area where everyone can see and reach. I use heavy duty magnets. I also bring a small white board or sticky notes to leave notes of where I am if I get separated from my companions. Thanks Sherrie!

Thanks. Don't forget the glass in the bedside drawer for your jewerly at night. Also those zip pouches are great for using in the safe, so each persons safe stuff is together and there isn't just a pile of stuff in the safe. I take a small power bank for travel and works great if there is no bed side charging, it frees up desk space, and night table space, very handy and can just put it and phone and tablet in the drawer and charge away. I don't have the packing cubes, I just use ziplock bags with flat bottoms for the shelf, so one for socks, one for undies, one for bras and they sort of stand up in a row and are organized and not falling around the shelf. ( I would like if they had more shelves that aren't so tall , aka if some shelves were made into two,be easier to organize and just seems a lot of wasted space as don't want everything piled up on top of each other ). Just ordered some more magnets. The 25 pds ones were good for hanging light things but not strong enough.

Excellent ideas on making storage work for you and your family. We use toothbrush caps because the room attendants usually spray their cleaning solution all over the countertops and mirrors, and I don't want that mist on my brush!

Thank you for all the info. Like you we have done just over 40 cruises and we learn something all the time from savy traveler. We carry a plastic bag with pull stings ang hang it up inside the closet, all dirty undies and small stuff goes in every day and at the end of the cruise we just pull the strings, tie up the bag and it's ready for the suitcase. When we get home it goes into the hamper ready for washing. Cheers ❤

I use a large laundry bag, the mesh kind for washing delicates, for my dirty clothes. If I need extra space, I put the whole bag of dirties into a compression cube and squoosh.

I do this, but I also bring a small box of laundry sheets and add them to the dirty clothes, bottom of the closet, etc to keep things smelling fresh!

How do you pack all that in a carry-on? I'm still using my huge suitcase. I've tried to pack less but I'm having a hard time. My goal for my next cruise will be to use a medium size bag...baby steps. Thanks for all you do!

I create a wall mount itinerary for almost every cruise. So helpful to have a visual for each day. Instead of a pop-up hamper, I take a draw string dirty laundry bag so that at the end of the trip all the dirty clothes stay inside the bag and I just roll or fold it all up and place in the suitcase. Also “Welcome to the shower!” Hehe.

I will almost always wash my day before clothes in the shower with me every evening before I go to bed ... that way it's easy to keep up with and not so time consuming, and im.not trying to get it done in a tiny little sink.
