Saddest animated death: Littlefoot’s mom in The Land Before Time, as he tries to nuzzle her to get back up, then bursts into tears. Obvious precursor to Mufasa and Simba.

Thank you for getting number one right! Jo Jo Rabbit is a movie I tell any/everybody to watch. It is such an amazing flim. The two actors that play JoJo and his little chubby friend couldn't get any cuter if they tried. I'm kinda surprised that Simon Birch wasn't included. Another movie I highly recommend to everybody.

Star Trek Generations is not in any way the best Star Trek movie, but Patrick Stewart's emotional breakdown over the death of his brother and nephew is one of the most emotional in Star Trek lore.

When Linus dies at the end of Fanboys after getting to watch The Phantom Menace. His conversation with Eric is so sweet and honest, and I really couldn't believe that after that hilarious road trip the filmmakers would take that dark punch. Still a awesome flick, tho.

I would have had that scene from 2010 where HAL-9000 chooses to sacrifice himself to save Dr. Chandra and everyone else on the Leonov as they are trying to escape from Jupiter. The scene comes out of nowhere when this weird anamoly is spotted on Jupiter and HAL insists on sticking around to observe it. We're supposed to think that HAL will lose his shit like he did in 2001. But Chandra, despite the danger, decides to reveal that they've been lying to the Super computer. Instead, the scene is heartbreaking and it works because Doug Rain and Bob Balaban work tbe hell out of it.

Saddest anomated movie moment? The ending of "Grave of the Fireflies." *mic drop* That one reached into my chest and ripped my heart out
@bheast862 ай бұрын
not sure it was the actual ending that was the killer - the spirits of the children watching the world change - or even Setsuko's death, but the business Seita has to do afterwards to get the materials to cremate her, and his taking a last look into the casket. GOTF manages quite a change of pace before the opening titles, when the boy has allowed himself to die out of guilt, in the middle of a busy city, then all of a sudden there is the joyful reunion of the ghost children.

Bing Bong’s death, as sad as it was, is very predictable
@user-lb9xw4xf2q2 ай бұрын
Let's not forget, Dominic's suicide was driven by three factors: Siobhán's rejection was merely the last straw, since for all of the bad things in his life, it was given with gentleness and sympathy; the previous push was when Pádraic guiltlessly admitted that he had sent Colm's student away with a cruel lie about the student's father being dead - Dominic had considered Pádraic his only friend, and a good man, but upon learning of his selfish cruelty, Dominic became disillusioned; and the third, perhaps worst factor, was the lifelong physical, emotional, and possibly sexual abuse he suffered from his father, which was something that he felt would have continued, so he took the only way he saw out.

0:54 what? That scene did totally not come out of the blue. And Keira's char did not fall in love with him. It was a pity kiss. Then he gave it up (or seemed to anyways) and she went back inside to her husband. I assume she didn't tell her husband about the whole thing because she didn't want to make a fuzz about it.

most of these movies nobody has seen and jojo rabbit is not to be watched as hitler is only a mad man and nothing more, certainly not a childs friend.
@michaelwilts5349Ай бұрын
For fuck's sake, the whole point of Hitler being his imaginary friend is to showcase the brainwashing of the youth by the Fascist machine. And the numerous inconsistencies of the imaginary Hitler with the real Hitler showcases how a child's mind would/could fill in the gaps of unknown information with assumptions.
