You should go over some flight patterns for the little bird. I find circle strafing is extremely effective at taking out targets, since it lets you target a single point for fire while also moving quickly. I use the original controls but Lean forward and roll slightly to the left or right Hold w and tap yaw in the opposite direction until you start flying in a circular motion Point at a target and circle the target, trying to keep the crosshair on target This will keep your aim on point while also not being a static target. Additionally, if you stop tapping yaw and hold w and s at the same time, you'll brake almost immediately, letting you quickly adjust the aim to hit multiple targets, ot aquire a new target to strafe.

Another thing, blast either fortunate son or topgun music as you lift off, this boosts morale and makes everyone happy, volume is your choice but try to keep it moderate

Very good advice. As an engineer player type I like to call out to the pilot the bird's damage percentage. While repairing, the engineer can see the copter's health and can see the damage vs the amount that can be repaired. It dwindles depending upon the types of hits. I suggest if you play as the engineer, to call out an estimate of the damage intermittently so the pilot knows when to RTB. Communication IS the key. You got that one right. And slow circles for the gunners. Keep up the videos and hope to see you in the game!

The gunner tips mostly apply to MBTs and light vehicles as well. The remote .50cals aren't stabilized, and if you're driving like a madman your secondary gunner won't be able to hit the broad side of a galaxy.

RoF is reduced and spread is increased when the minigun over heat. at least it felt like that. You do much better firing in burst and letting the gun cool.

Best tip for swapping to mouse aiming: Keep your fingers off A and D. You only ever need to tap them to adjust slightly. The mouse is doing most of the work. I also keep a higher dpi on my mouse that I can swap to when flying.

As an IRL pilot converting to arcade game mouse+keyboard, I vouch 100% for swapping yaw and roll controls. To fellow heli pilots, after a few runs, offer your seat in the cockpit to anyone who wants to learn, and coach them! make sure passengers know so they can jump off first =). Notes to our soldiers on the ground - 1. Every time you ping a vehicle's location, you potentially save the lives of everyone on board a friendly chopper you didn't know would have been headed that way to die. 2. When hopping on, ASK, don't TELL, which point we're going to, or where you'd like to be. Common courtesy goes a long way. I'd love to take you to the objective your squad's after as long as it's safe. 3. If you want a turn to fly, just ask! I love teaching players in-game. 4. Be nice to the heli pilots in this game. it's already intimidating enough as it is to learn the ropes without a heli in the shooting range. No sense in making harder for em'. 5. we know about the rope. seriously. barking at me to deploy the rope doesn't make me want to do it any faster.

I hadn't considered simply switching roll from mouse to a and d. I've actually gone so far as to hook up my realflight controller, which works, but only poorly, rather than hit things using default controls! So thanks for that! In case anyone is curious how the controller went, I had to hook up w, or the throttle to the channels nob on the controller. Steaams controller setup just doesn't play nice with the throttle part of the left stick. As for how it played, I couldn't easily change throttle, just turn it on or off, but if you have experience with fpv drone piloting, you might find that this makes you not only faster, but damn near impossible to shoot properly

Honestly, the best advice for controls is ditch Keyboard and mouse altogether and use a controller with dual joysticks. I have my xbox controller plugged into my PC and set up the controls just like i have on Battlefield and its the easiest and best way to pilot because you have so much fine control over movement

I think you didn't mention that the Black Hawk can get easily one shot by a tank/RPG if it gets hit on tail rotor. Which is why you should never engage on low Altitude in a map that has many tanks. You're asking to get obliterated, also I always prioritize my right side gunner so I avoid getting shot with the left side exposed.

I do not understand the helicopter, i feel like a retarded person. Background, i've flown choppers in Arma and other Milsims all of the time. I even flew them in previous battlefield games. A and D and W and S I have no problem with. What always happens is I start flying, aim the nose down, fly for awhile, then turn and try to mimic it with my mouse then all hell breaks lose. It wildly plummets to the side and I can never recover. Something is weird about turning with A and D while using your mouse. I really want to get this added in shooting range. I already tried mapping to a joystick and it doesn't work yet.
