The best thing you can do is leave your tank alone. Aside from feeding the fish, maintinence, that's it. 2nd, stop watching videos on the best way to do this, and the best way to do that. How to this and that, you start to over complicate yourself by trying to do what everyone else says. You start to over treat your tank in a million different ways. Put a nice filtration , nice light, don't use tap water, check salinity and fix as needed. Don't overfeed, don't over stock the tank, learn from mistakes, that's it.

Besides dipping coral can u quarantine them in Quarantine tank also

Not a bad video i'm a winger and a cheapskate . Not one to buy glamour products . Sure i planned the best buy the best i can afford .. You hit some key points read reviews on anything you intend to buy . Dam u Fish are just that pain in the bunns . Harptails less a Bully I chose them cause i researched also i check my salt mix before a water change and the water i'm pouring in pretty faith fully ..I just moved away from Sumps aka what ever else u want call them .. Saw them as useless waste of money simple 90 gallon Fowler tank all i have . But i loved you acclimation advise spot on .Simply i would drain the bag over empty bucket having a pre made bucket with my water place the fish inside that bucket qt section .Going to try this drip method you suggested in this video . Great pointers sorta was hoping to hear what salt brands you not favor I like Red Sea trying Live Aquaria Salt ok i hush up good video

Just bought a waterbox 100.3. I currently have a 5 year established 20 gallon tank. If I add my live rock, substrate and the established water along with some new artificial rock and new live substrate with 80 gallons of fresh saltwater and all my fish and coral, will my new system go into a mini cycle? If rodi water isn’t an option you can use distilled water from the grocery store just test for tds I’ve been using it and never had a problem

I wish someone would talk about how garlic is actually bad for fish. There has been no legitimate study that has proven its benefits other than maybe making some foods seem more appetizing to fish. Theres actual scientific studies linking garlic ingestion with fatty liver disease in fish. Spread the word!

Great video buddy. I all was try to explain to people why certain pieces of equipment are so much more expensive then others, lighting is a good example. People that go out and buy right the first time are all was more successful then those that cheap out on everything. Fluval and Nicrew lights are cheaper, AI’s and Radions are more expensive. This isn’t a coincidence there’s a clear-cut reason for this. The more expensive lights grow coral faster the coral has more color and overall the light spectrum is tuned specifically for coral. Not to mention, cheaper lights often tend to grow more algae. New people should ask themselves this question. How are the companies that make these more expensive lights still in business when their products cost more than the competition, there must be a reason, right?

# 1 - adding corals before a tank is mature or assuming that because your tank is cycled its ready for Sps.

I agree with everything you said except acclimating coral. Never made any sense to me to slowly acclimate them and then throw them in a bowl of what amounts to insecticide, rinse them again and then put them in the tank. The major stressor in that whole process is the dip anyway. I just match the dip to tank temp put them in there then rinse and put them in tank. Never had any problems. Btw love the vids and you’re super cute!

Redsea salt lol made in the usa so not from redsea left in the desert two birds can crap on it. TDS should be 0 not 1 or 2 plus look at their pressure as it can indicate the need for their filters needing to be changed out. And always do your research before you buy a tank either fresh or salt water. It really does not coast a lot if you do it right and can be very simple. Ask questions at your lfs get on forums research research and research.

Been using tap water for over a year and no livestock and coral loss. I treat mine with chemicals like prime. All of my livestock and corals are happy. Been lucky i guess

7th mistake Don’t add fish without quarantining & medicating. Where ever your livestock came from, it most likely had ick in it. Corals don’t need acclimation.

Well let’s see Degree in marine biology scrubs dived most of my life owned three wholesale houses marine and freshwater. Was a voluntary adviser for the Boston aquarium 30 years ago. Keeping marine fish is a money pit. Most people drop out the first year count there losses and move on. Very few can keep them alive for any length of time. Small fish big tank eg. dominos s. Majors etc. Let’s see all your aquariums I see a tiny one. I caught my own fish in the keys and Hawaii. Can be kept by very few people for long periods of time. If your new save your money go fresh water fish only. Follow the basic rules of fish keeping the biggest bummer is going salt water watching your money and aquarium crash.

I've researched very little, dont use any expensive products, change 15% of my water once a month, test every 2 weeks, mix my top up water change in the tank, fill up with water then just add the salt and water treatment straight to the water. I get a fish and it goes straight into my tank........guess what......20 months on and its perfect!! Not had one single problem. Go on, say I'm lucky. You all think it has be bang on and spend loads of money. You people are so fuckin annoying and chat so much shit. Go away dude
