Dr., you are talking about your climate in your area? I am in the northern part of the U.S. In India I believe you can grow petunias as perennials, in my area I have to grow them as annuals. My concept of watering and fertilizing is different than yours. I have to water my petunias daily and fertilize weekly. You certainly can't keep water off of leaves once the flowers start spreading/flourishing that wave petunias do. I have a concoction of fertilizer that I use to keep the leaves dark green and many blooms. I have to grow my flowers primarily in pots because of wild animals. Petunias are not tasty to deer so that is the flower I grow. This year (2022) I propagated the galaxy series of petunias which was most successful. Here in the U.S. the costs have sky rocketed for plants so I am trying to find ways to lessen those costs. Next year (2023) I will propagate again to save money. I will buy about five sells of those petunias that I've had success with and propagate from those. I have to purchase my flowers in the early season normally in April, but can't plant until the last week of May because of frost. I watch for those green houses that open early and go there. So far this year (2022) my petunias are doing beautifully.

Dear Dr Suraj, I live in Coimbatore and the weather is just starting to get hot. Is this a good time to sow petunia seeds. I bought a couple of plants last month and they are flowering well. I would like to grow some from seeds but am not sure if it is too late. Day temperatures are 30°plus.
