As a college freshman, you're going to be naïve and make a lot of mistakes. That's okay. BUT if you can avoid some of the common college freshman mistakes, you can save yourself a lot of pain. My goal is to share my college experience with you so you can go back to school with everything you need to know.
Let me give you some college freshman advice. You're going to wish you knew these advice before your first day in college. Freshman year is the first year you get to live away from your parents (if you're lucky enough). This new-found freedom feels liberating. You can literally do anything you want. But hopefully, my college tips will help you avoid some regrets. For example, don't rush into a relationship in university. I know us Asian kids weren't allowed to date in high school but it's better to work on yourself than to be with someone you don’t like. Another thing is to that college is NOT as easy as high school. You actually must develop good work habits, learn study tips to be more productive, to get good grades. Don't mistake college classes for high school classes because the difficulty scales exponentially. Also, don't skip classes, and when you do, make sure you catch up! This way you can avoid falling behind and failing your midterm. Cramming two days before the exam won't work anymore. Thank me later or you could thank me now ;) Because later doesn't always come. Don't regret it.

Yeah you can absolutely use book that is 1 or 2 editions off the required one and still be just fine. Also Thriftbooks, Chegg, Amazon, and Half Price Books all sell or rent used and new books for waaaaay cheaper than from the school. You can also turn around after the semester and sell those books back to them or others. Only buy from the school if it's a book the school produces like if a department made it or a particular professor.

My main tipps for studying: time management, REAL couriosity and motivation- effort will come and follow- you will stick to your subject than, train your brain- memorize will become easy than, be active (sport) and watch your nutrition- healthy body is important, also working while studying is important- working world is totally different from school world. Follow your innervoice- it will lead you to your success

Blaze when you start doing AP classes, no way you can get natural A’s without studying. I was used to honors classes and easily gotten all A’s without studying so when I started AP’s, these classes are so difficult. Started getting bad grades but I changed my habits.
