Don’t EVER use sharpie on your chevrons if the lacquer starts coming off. Take a small amount of regular black nail polish paint over your chevron and then while it’s still wet take a little bit of corn starch on a make up sponge and dab it on to make it matte when it’s dry wipe it off. :) works in a pinch. Agreed. Never tried the nail polish myself. Always just used the flat black spray paint.

Turtles? This proves to me once again that the different branches have different nicknames for the Sela me items. In my time in the Army, they were most commonly called “damn-its” since that’s what was muttered every time you dropped one.

Can u shrink ur ripstop uniform with a hot wash?

Theoretically yes, but the extent of which depends on the material. Most uniforms are made from shrink resistant material, so the shrinkage may not even be perceptible, or even. What will be perceptible is the fading that a hot water wash and dry will cause.
