I read Heaven and Sweet Bean paste last month. They were both very different reads. Just as you said, sweet bean paste made me smile at many instances and also shed a few tears. I started the Before the coffee gets cold series last year. I'm yet to read the third one. The first is my favorite of the two I've read so far.

Japan means Murakami for me ❤️ BTW I have read ikigai ,courage to be disliked , Kafka on the shore , Norwegian wood , men without women ,killing commandatore ...by Japanese authors so far
