More of this!!! I’m all in with “The Boyz” knowing full well that I will never be part of the Hawaiian Surf Culture … All of my questions and curiosity about the scene was full of wonderment and awe. I projected what I thought it would be like in my mind’s eye but never really knew. So, I’m ignorantly optimistic. Until I found out these guys had their demons… like the rest of us. Thank God phones with cameras wasn’t a thing in the 90’s. Being from Northern California, I saw what happened to the Santa Cruz boys who got twisted up between incredibly raw, natural talent and fucking gangsters. The influence of pretending to be hard when I think they didn’t want to fall into that. Thank you, Jamie! For going hard and being the most creative and confident surfer that released content. Released content without fear of trying to be something you are not. Actually, I should thank your dad. Mason is right. Your dad methodically made sure you were in the right place when it mattered most. He let you fall and learn. Fall and learn. Showing others now how to fall and learn. This is my first podcast from JOB and it was cuz mason ho was on it. Hearing him say he was scared growing up because of the hero’s and gnarly groms was very inspiring. I dealt with the same thing growing up but hearing mason ho dealing with the same thing is very humbling.
