Swaghetti Yolognese Their flight feathers are recently clipped, if you look closely at their wings. (Notice that they look a little “squared off” at the edges; compare to the tiel at 4:00, who has her flights fully grown in.) They can’t do more than flap a couple of feet in any given direction, and cockatiels are light enough that they float if they end up in the water.

The second one I just wanna say two things: 1. Don’t put birds directly under the water, the bird was trying to gasp for air and is trying to see. 2. The reason why it’s head is looking up it’s because the water is going in it’s nostrils. I recommend using a container (big enough for the parakeet) and fill it up with water to bathe you parrot. Keep the container under the pipe until your parakeet goes in it to bathe. When your parakeet is finished bathing, your done!

Jimiy-You are 100 % Correct. The person who was holding the little Cockatiel upside down with nostrils close to the sand should have something similar done to him/her. Who brings their little sweetheart of a Cockatiel to the beach? For the most part I like this Channel, but I have seen even more abusive clips -mostly featuring Cockatiels for some reason - "starter birds", inexpensive or can't bite their way to freedom? When I have posted about observed cruelty people who call themselves birb lovers have hurled insults my way, never defend the helpless parrots and make-up all types of implausible excuses for the owners abusive behaviors. In other words, my 30 years of being a parront to lovely Cockatiels don't matter, my years of researching bird behaviors out the window and my own eyes are lying to me. What's remarkable, one video clearly showing a Cockatiel being abused and You-Tube wouldn't take it down. I've posted links to reputable educational parrot channels and the response stays the same. No abuse here! I appreciate you for posting for your clearly stated reasons why Parrots should never be under shower heads or faucets. They are drowning. We should be careful handling all birbs and treat them with the same respect as a Dinosaur. 🍃 🦕💕 Stay safe and happy 🇺🇸😷 💕

Other birds both the same size and smaller have done fine in the shower. The bird should've just put it's head down to solve the issue. That's what the other birds do.

CanelaCabrita no matter what he should be on a perch with just a mist. He doesn’t know better and there is nothing he can do about it. Its not a good idea to put your bird in the shower like this and theres nothing anyone can do to change that. Never let your bird sit with heavy water pouring down on him..

My friends Quaker parrot does fine in the shower he just gets grumpy and bites her flesh off and he has been in the shower once for 5 muinite so just only use a mist setting if you can

Not only are they clipped but they are just chopped in half. That’s not even how you properly clip wings! That makes it so the bird can’t fly at all (unlike proper clips). What if the bird falls? So dangerous :(

0:23 this isn’t the bird taking a shower this is what cockatiels do when they are gasping for breath and inhaling water this is very bad for the bird and can kill it
