This video will show step by step instructions for installing BumperShellz (by Ecoological). BumperShellz are ABS overlays that are designed to fit exactly over the OEM factory bumper. The easy-to-follow installation instructions and use of the factory trim make this a great DIY project that leaves you with perfect results.
Along with Tacoma applications, Tundra, Silverado, F150, Ram, are also available.
BumperShellz are completely reversible, so you can return to chrome or the original bumper color whenever you like.

After watching countless tutorials you guys are the only ones that did your tutorial with only pulling 3 snaps. Everyone else has you moving two extra snaps which are really hard to get at

We didn’t have those neat plastic pry bars so we used a couple of silicone kitchen spatulas. The 2nd one went on easier than the 1st. Makes my Taco look sharp!

Takes longer than 10 minutes. If you've installed it a dozen times maybe you can do it in 10 minutes. Took me an hour.

Yeah, we don't have that one quite yet. Not sure on time-frame for when we would start making them either. We do have them for the 2020 Silverado and their rear bumpers are the same.

@@EcoologicalVideos Yes - on the limited package which has the chrome details. On the off-road it is ridiculous! Unless you have the $5,000 premium upgrade then bumper corners are color coordinated with the truck!

I cannot get any of the clips off without completely breaking them. Ive destroyed two already so i just give up and will have to return these before i mess up my truck even more. These clips will not just pop off like on your video, mine just break the second you touch them. Couldnt be more frustrated.

I have a 2017 trd 4x2 offroad & it just amazes me how much junk they pack on these newer trucks today & built so cheap but cost a fortune for these trucks nothing like the older trucks from the 60s into the 80s everything was built better & much cheaper in cost..

They don't spend much on designing new models so you think there should be some cost savings there. I'm amazed how well Tacoma's age though. Your generation Tacoma still looks great almost 4 years later, and it's a 5 year old design. You can't really say that about a lot of other trucks

How would the gloss black look with the the color code 218. Midnight black metallic. Would it look close enough? Do you have any pictures of different installs ?

I've seen people do it, and it looks fine. I probably would go with the matte black or textured black TPO instead though. I don't have any pictures of that exact color combo. I've just seen them perusing the forums.

Matte Black will be better to match any matte black vinyls on your truck. It's a smooth surface. The textured black will match your bumper step pad and fender flares well. It's a stipple textured flat black.

Yes! If you have a local shop that can do it cheaper than us, you can purchase our Paintable ABS option. Otherwise, you can shop all painted parts in ANY OEM color on ChromeStoppers.com

Hey Anthony! We've had to put a hold on producing more OEM color match parts for the mean time. Demand got out of control acrross the board and those are extremely time consuming. However, we just purchased a new paint booth for our new shop and potentially could have a new lead painter as early as the beginning of August. If that works out, he should be able to start chipping away at that list pretty quick.

Hey Grant. I just bought a 2020 Off Road. My current rear bumper does not have a hole for a sensor; does this mean I have no rear sensor? Or does the current bumper just not obstruct its functionality? I looked up my vin# on Toyota's sight, but was unable to get a clear answer.

It really depends on the truck. In the case of our Tacoma, here in the vid, it works perfectly fine. Our Shellz are designed to go over stock bumpers and adhere using 3M tape.

The magnetic grey is pretty spot on. The only two colors we've even seen a little bit of variability on are Quicksand and Cement, but those are just notoriously hard colors to match.

Half the head of 1 clip broke off when I tried prying it off to add my bumper shellz. Will this affect the integrity of the bumper or shellz? It still clips in, just a part of the head broke off. I just don’t want the whole thing to end up falling off or something

That wont be an issue. You can always grab new clips for cheap, but the plastic on those clips always gets brittle. They're not structural, so it wont cause an issue for the bumper or the BumperShellz

It is exactly the same for the Tacoma. The BumperShellz will just have a clearance hole cut for the reverse sensor, so just make sure that is centered on the sensor bezel and you'll be good to go!

I get it. We make everything at our shop in Rocklin CA, and have kept prices the same through inflation so we just don't have the margin to offer free shipping, though I hope we will be able to provide that some day. The good news is since we've purchased new machinery, those lead times on orders are coming down pretty quickly.
