I still can't believe the absolute dominance by Jesus Olivares. He totaled 1,152.5kg Raw while only 24 years old. I'm also super impressed with Mahailya Reeves who did the heaviest raw bench in the IPF at only 18 years old. Seeing records in this video done by Juniors or those born a Gen Z tells us how strong powerlifters are gonna get in the coming years, especially Jesus. Awesome compilation. I'm glad you showed Bonica Brown's 289 kilogram squat.

@@dosenbrotimtetrapac no one says it's easier, technically it's a much harder lift to learn, but it absolutely gives an advantage over conventional for basically anyone except SHWs. Nearly every record is sumo, and often those that aren't are superceded by heavier sumo pulls in lighter weight classes There's a reason only two guys have pulled 500+ conventional, and they were both around 200kg bodyweight and used suits, while I think by now 3 or 4 sumo pullers have hit 500+, one without even using a belt, all around 100-110kg bodyweight

You compete or are you a coach? If neither your opinion doesn't matter

@@vernevaanhe clearly struggles with his weights in deadlift less than double body weight. Anyone who has done deadlift in the IPF with a real powerbar knows how hard it is no matter what technique you use. Typical comment from degenerates in or who watch bogus feds and strongman allow hitching and deadlift bars

What's the point of this? These guys aren't out there using this strength to lift heavy things in the real world. I've got a lot of cut trees for them to lift and move.

This is a highly technical competitive sport, not just a show of strength. I am still pretty sure that this strength also translates to everyday movements. Hope this helps to clarify 🙌🏼

Do you realize that lifting Equipped is a little more difficult than liftin raw? Sumo deadlifts are here to stay, unless the rules committee changes it. It is still impressive to be able to stand up with that weight in your hands
@mitchellsteindler
@mitchellsteindler 6 ай бұрын
@Slvrdrgn77d sure it's impressive but there's no context to say to what extent it is impressive. There's a reason all the light guys used sumo. It's easier. Saying equipped lifting is harder than raw is nonsensical. The equipped bench record is 100s of pounds more than the raw record.

@@mitchellsteindler go ahead and try it, let us know if you think sumo is easier then conventional. Equipped lifting requires different techniques, its tempo going down and explode up.

@Slvrdrgn77d I'm not going to spend my time training something I have no interest in and see no benefit in doing. Why didn't all the sumo world records just lift conventionally of sumo isn't easier? Please stop talking to me about equipped lifting. They may as well use a damn forklift and say they're lifting it because their hand is on the control lever.
