10 Month Dupixent Update!

My name is Jaymee, I am 24 years old, and struggle with multiple chronic illnesses. I have Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease, AKA Samter’s Triad, and this video is about my new treatment plan for this issue. Dupixent was not the first option by my medical team, but due to other health issues, this is our last resort. I will continue to document my journey with this treatment and my AERD🙂

Dupixent works for me as well, it’s made my nasal polyps disappear and I can smell and taste like a normal person. It has also really helped my asthma to the point where it is almost completely gone... no more prednisone! The only side effect I had was done very mild eye lid irritation like pink eye but that went away with some drops. Good luck!

How did you get you're doc or insurance to pay for this?

Actually Dupixent has a program for patients that qualify where they will give it to you for free. Go to an experienced ENT doc that knows is experienced with a good patient rep for Dupixent they might be able to hook you up good luck. It changed my life.

my wife just got diagnosed with IIH and she has always suffered from allergies and a lot of other related puzzle pieces are now starting to fall into place! I didn't think that this might be related but something we are going to check out. fortunately I was a medical biller for 5 years so we are going to go and see him to get her checked out. please post an update when you can and the bangs look is great on you! hope you are living well and healthy!

I saw my ENT today and she said she thought I might be a good candidate for Dupixent, so I came to KZfaq to see what it even is. Yours were the first videos to pop up re: treatment for nasal polyps. I can't imagine tasting and smelling things again; it's been over a decade. I'm a little frightened of self-injecting (though a bit less since seeing you do it - thank you!), but at least from your video, the benefits wildly outweigh my fears. Thank you for sharing!! ❤️

I just started it!!! 4+ years into no smell or taste (and I'm a Bar Director for a living so tasting and smelling wine and spirits is my literal job) and it's back! And better than I remember at times! But it's been so long! And my asthma that appeared in 2020 when my smell and taste went away has also cleared up! Knock on wood but I'm 5 weeks into Dupixent treatments and I've used my inhaler only twice, and my daily asthma meds are cut by 50% (my own doing). I do Xhance every day myself still and saline spray as maintenance. But I can handle that - it's over the counter meds!

Thank you so much for doing these videos. I just started watching your videos a few days ago. I have had all of the exact same issues as you except I have really bad allergies too. I am going to start Dupixent soon as well so hopefully no or mild side effects.

I used it for about a year and after about 3 months started having all the side effects it listed. From eye irritation to joints aching to the rare side affect they listed, left arm having tingling and numbness. When the numbness started happening in my left arm I quit immediately. It has been about 2 months that I have been off of it and I am just trying to be very healthy with eating and exercising and so far I have been good with my nasal polyps not being out of control and having that thick yucky mucous.

Hi sis I am starting my acetazolamine (diamox) for my optical nerves swelling ..tomorrow first dose. Really scarred of side effects I hv heard

Hello Manisha I have iih too and I’m taking diamox for 3 month now. It’s not scary at all you just have to keep drinking water a lot it’s gonna make you pee more than usual, forget about the soda the taste is literally metallic, first month is ok but when they rise the dose you may have some stomach upsets, diarrhea and gas. BUT ITS GOONA SAVE YOUR VISION💙 Good luck

I have AERD since 2016, I had nasal polyps removed in 2018. I'm so glad I found your channel , I suffer very much from this disease. Unfortunately, this medicine DUPIXENT Is not available here in MOROCCO 🇲🇦. is this medicine effective?

You might want to look into your diet as well to help lessen the seriousness of the polyps. Dr. LAidlaw out of Boston, Massachusetts (USA) has a recommendation of a diet with little Omega 6 Fats and an increase of Omega 3. Food heavy in Omega 3 are fatty fish.

I would also look at foods high Salicylates which was makes aspirin to bad for us. Some spices like tumeric are realy loaded with it.

God you're so lucky. I have been suffering with non allergic rhinitis since 2014, have polyps and 2 surgerys didn't make a smidge of difference. Cant smell and deal with horrible daily mucus and related asthma as a side effect. Why won't my drs let me use this??! :(

I feel your pain. I've had Chronic sinusitis for over 20yrs / 3 sinus polypectomies Doctors at the VA would like to do a 4th surgery. When I visit with them this coming Tuesday I'll ask about Dupixent for treatment of polyps and asthma.

@@Keithmuhammadofficial Good luck! I've been using that 'Navage' nose cleaner and it's helped with the mucus but still no smell of course, tissues and poylps inflamed.

I have had surgery and the polyps came back in a month I use Xhance and it doesn't work only thing that works is predinsone. I even had sinuva twice and that didn't work so im gonna ask my ent about dupixent cause I need my smell back

Hey I dont mean to be rude, but how did you cover the bill ? My insurance will only pay for $400. I gotta cover the other $3000 out of pocket. I cant afford this and i dont know what to do

My insurance with my work covered all of it when I was on it. But I no longer take it due to the bad side affects I was having.

Hey ! Im about to start using dupixent for my sinusitis.. do you know if it is possible to recover after some treatments, or is it supposed to be like.. for life? 😅
