Love as always! It’s ok for some hairs to shed. Even though we’re loc’d, but our hair still sheds. Majority of the shed hair gets trapped & that is what helps add to the Loc’s as you know, but you’ll still see some hair break away somehow. It’s not major unless you start seeing thinning Loc’s. Your hair looks healthy, I wouldn’t worry about it. Also, your hair still looked really good & it didn’t seem like you needed a retwist. I’ve been waiting every other month because I feel like once a month is too soon. I don’t want my Loc’s thinning. Although mine are thicker, but I just feel like less manipulation is better. As far as the dryness, my hair is so much more dryer than when I was a loose natural. & that’s because I don’t mess with my hair as much, or put much product in my hair as often anymore. I wash my hair twice a month now that I’m loc’d, whereas before I washed it every 3 days so my moisture routine used to be pretty often. Now I don’t add anything to my Loc’s until it’s closer to wash day. Sorry for the long comment, lol. I can’t wait to see when you take down your trust. ❤

Your locs are gorgeous! And honestly the way your locs fall are a cute style to me. And the sprinkles, yassssssss!! Need a style, where? And did you really need a retwist? I couldn’t tell cause everything looked just fine to me.

Im probably late.. but drinking more water may help with keeping them moisturized, if youre not drinking enough. Just throwing that out there for something for you to think about

Hey girl, I bought the African loc gel that you shared with us because the hold looked amazing on you. However I noticed my hair has started to feel really dry too. I wonder if it’s contributing to your experience as well. The dryness came out of nowhere & it’s the only new product that I’ve added to my routine. Idk something to think about 🤷🏾‍♀️

Locs getting long

Hey Sis, your hair looks great! I just started the journey 2wks ago via comb coils. I get great information re care and moisturizing via @ thedigitalloctian. ( she is on KZfaq as well . Just no that oil does not moisturize the hair..it helps to seal in moisture. I.e., after mist of water , rose water and or washing hair. 😊. Also, frizz and budding is your friend..that is progress you want that.
