Man it's sad to hear about lesnar's coaches. I mean it's a crime if you have athelete like Brock and you limit his potential by eliminating the most important aspect of the sport from training. It's tough to imagine how good he could've been with a better striking coach, even though it was very late for him to be a great striker because of his decision to fight so late in his career.
@southerndiscomfort171
@southerndiscomfort171 10 ай бұрын
agreed, even if he didnt become a world class boxer learning the fundamentals of striking could have given him the knowledge to be a more defensive fighter until he can close the distance (safely) and use his wrestling. if they were trying to make him more confident they could have built it up by giving him the right tools so he was prepared in the octagon, so that's not really an excuse

Matt Hughes (his actual “coaching”, not the entry in this list) was the biggest shocker to me when that season of TUF aired… Usually, in my personal experience and from the show itself, wrestlers usually make for *some of the very best* coaches, mainly because they know what it takes as an athlete and wrestlers _usually_ LOVE working/wrestling with and helping to improve other wrestlers.. Every high school in my city (about 11 of ‘em) has alumni wrestlers come back from college to help the team or even sign up as an assistant/Head Coach. I still go back to my old high school 15 YEARS LATER to work with the coach and kids on the team to give them pointers/advice, put in work with them on the mat, and just about *anything* I can do to help continue pumping out state champs and getting kids scholarships who otherwise never would’ve went to college… And I do it for free, as do some of my old teammates, out of love and respect for the game. That’s why Matt Hughes lack of care/respect/coaching was the biggest shocker of that whole season, even more so than people (understandably) wanting to leave to join Team Tito 😂😂😂.

That’s interesting. It really does show how uniquely asshole-ish Matt is. Given his autobiography talks about him bullying everyone around him and making out with a 12 year old when he was 20, it’s not too surprising he is uniquely irresponsible for a wrestler

Jackson didn’t have anything to do with gsp changing his style. That’s all on Matt Serra. Gsp has said that he struggles with the idea of losing and disappointing everyone that supports him and trains him. He said that those things led to him having nightmares every night after Serra knocked him out.

@@LitoGeorge people like you make me sick. Due to your faith you allow your fellow worshippers to do horrendous shit and when criticized it's whataboutyou? Supporting deplorable behaviour because a person has the same faith as you is disgusting and Jesus would deeply dislike you trying to rationalise him being a shitty person And fuck off with your passive agrresive horseshit, you claimed the moral high ground as soon as you tried to whatabout Matt Hughes out of a domestic violence case

Controversial doesn’t have to be negative. Would’ve been more interesting if you brought up more controversial coaches, that have positive records. It’ll be more hard to research, but I hope you make a video about that.

Personally, I think ronda's coach knew she wasn't "Bangkok ready" he was just trying to put it out the the media that she was this amazing striker in order to assure people there weren't major holes in her game and so that she builds up even more hype.

People forget that Jon turned Chael down for a couple reasons. Chael hadn't fought at 205lbs for 6 years and was coming off of a loss in a title fight against Silva. So Chael was not a legitimate title challenger for Jon's belt..

Don't forget Duke Rufus. Although he has had success with his fighters he has been claimed by some of his students to treating them extremely bad. There was also a fight that killed one of his students if Im not mistaken. There is a lot of dirt if you search for interviews from his past students you will see.

Honestly. With one of Edmonds recent fighters out his camp having a great debut. And fabia recent fallout and apparent attempt to take advantage of Sanchez's damage body from MMA to try and get money from the UFC. Fabia probably should be top of the list now.
